Mice control that did not work; wont refund or fix problem

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

1.Upon recommendation of a neighbor I hired NASH Pest Control since we were having MICE issues.Unlike other companies that first assess the problem and give an estimate of the cost, NASH did not assess the problem and charged $150 upfront to fix the problem on 3/23/2020. Which however they DID NOT fix.

NASH said in 1-2 months they would return if the mice infestation continued for an additional charge of $50. This was the price quoted both by the lady on the phone and by Jeremy, the technician sent to fix the problem. However on April 9 and 10 we found mice (before the 1 month period ). I reported the April 9 incident to the NASH office ( the April 10 issue occurred after hours and I felt it would be more effective to submit a formal complaint today to BBB so it would not be ignored like my previous one was and so NASH's undeserved A+ listing at BBB would be revised.) The lady on the phone (manager?receptionist?) was unconcerned, unapologetic, and quoted me a higher price of $60 to have the problem fixed though it occurred before the 1 month timeframe (she repeated the higher price twice), instead of the original $50 promised by her and Jeremy.

Other pest control companies ETHICALLY fix unresolved problems for no extra charge if it reoccurs before the scheduled timeframe, indicating the pest control solution was ineffective, as ours was. NASH refused.

2. The pest control by NASH was incomplete and ineffective. Jeremy inspected the crawl space but not the attic.

He found no mice in the crawl space and did not report any mice droppings there which seems unusual. He put baits in the crawl space to lure the mice there from the house. But he did not plug any pluggable holes where they could have entered the house .....to minimize the mice problem. He said that means the mice were all in the house, not in the crawl space.

Yet he did not thoroughly inspect the inside of the house, did not check the vents, other rooms, walls, under the sink, etc for possible entry points which a proper inspection should include. He did not set traps in the house to catch the mice indoors. He did NOTHING to deal with the indoor mouse problem. He ineffectively and unexplainably focused ONLY on the crawl space where he said he found no mice.

3.

Jeremy said there was a gap between the garage door and the concrete which could be an entry point for mice. I asked if he knew anyone who could fix that and he said he could probably refer me to a handyman from his brother's construction company. I gave him a $150 check and later did a Wells Fargo bill pay of another $150 to NASH in anticipation of a handyman fix and as a backup in case my husband's check did not clear. The check was cashed but there was no update by Jeremy or NASH on the handyman which was critical to solve the mice problem.

I repeatedly called Nash for over 2 weeks to follow up, sent letters, and sent an email to the email on Jeremy's card which was invalid. I asked for a return of the additional $150 if no handyman could be referred to me. NO RESPONSE at all from NASH or Jeremy. UNACCEPTABLE!!!

I finally called Wells Fargo to stop payment on the additional $150 BillPay, explaining my situation.

4. Please help me get a refund of my $150 since NASH did not fix the problem it was paid for and refused to fix the mice issues which reoccurred before the scheduled 1 month timeframe, as ETHICAL PEST CONTROL COMPANIES DO.

5. Please revise their A+ rating in BBB which is undeserved.

They do not care about effective pest control service and disregard clients after they get paid, even if their pest control solution was TOTALLY ineffective.I belatedly saw two 1* ratings from NASH customers who complained about service and honesty issues. It is sad that these could not be considered in the BBB ratings.
