MYMOVE - Given Bad Information
on 10/12/2023 approximately 4:45pm I live in San Diego and was connected to MyMove via a utility company as I was having my gas and electric service turned on at my new address. They wanted to "set me up with one of their (moving partners) to save me some money." I was promised by the rep from MyMove that when having my Wi-Fi service moved to my new location it would be the same cost as if I called my cable/internet service provider and asked them to move my service. He said to me several times that there is a $100 charge for my cable/internet service provider to move my service and I told him it sounds odd. "Why would my cable/internet service provider force me to have a Pro-Connect Service if I can unplug my router and take it to my new place and plug it in myself?" He promised me several times that they must charge for this service if I do it through MyMove or if I do it through my cable/internet service provider and the cost either way will be $100.00. I declined for the last time and said I will do it through my cable/internet service provider. I was chatting with my cable/internet service provider this weekend and they told me if the unit is not set up for cable/Wi-Fi then I would be charged a fee (not of $100.00) for the Pro-Connect option but they didn't see that I should have any trouble with doing it through the app and that it shouldn't require a Pro-Connect fee. I took screen shots of the conversation with my cable/internet service provider. I am upset that this utility company would "set me up with one of their (moving partners) to save me some money." and have a rep that they partner with immediately tell me that there will be a $100 charge. Frankly I am pissed. I will be reaching out to them as well. I will not have your company keep my information stored. I demand that any information related to me, my addresses or any part of my contact information be deleted/removed immediately. I am very distraught over the idea of a scam-type company referred by a trusted company (a utility company which I, now, no longer trust) has my personal information on file. I expect a follow-up call as I want to be certain that my complaint has been heard and I want to know exactly how my information has been removed and protected. Jennifer
