Lived in VA for 5 yrs and loved it. Can't wait to move back.
As for the taxes, they are rather low. Try living in NE a God forsaken state that I pay three times the taxes in and have worse schools, roads and I have to pay for the school bus transportion.
Sounds like you are bitter because of your own actions and not those of the commonwealth. Sit back take a breath and enjoy what VA has to offer.

as a woman who raised kids alone heres my advice...get off YOUR *** and get a 2nd or 3rd job. Just because you have a baby daddy does not automatically entitle a PARENT to money from the OTHER parent.

Yes, I am having the same issues with Child Support Enforcement of VA. They are a absolutely worthless!!!
They treat custodial parents like the bad guys when they call in to ask questions about what is going on in there case! It's sickening and something needs to be done!!!
that's not fair then, they needed to accomodate your attempt....ugh that irks me...the system hurts the poor when they do that, which isn't beneficial to anyone....

I always thought the system is too unflexible-inflexible with good guys and too soft on the jerks who don't declare obvious income.... SMH that irks me
Late fees need to be removed, simply because the state is not in business to make any sort of profit....it is the state....sorry that is the conservative in me, small gov't...
I also always thought checks need to be counted as rec'd by the date sent, another item where people go to jail for non-violent offense that doesn't serve society in the long run...
