I made a reasonable offer on a cheap clarinet that they allowed offers on. I made 3 and all were rudely rejected. All offers were for more that the clarinet was worth. Then they stated let us know if any further assistance is required. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WILL EVER BE REQUIRED FROM THESE JERKS. My other interaction with them was to buy a saxophone ligature. Took way over a month to get here. FWIW I ended up buying another clarinet for way less money. The only difference is the name on the bell. All those brightly colored clarinets, saxes, etc. are cheap Chinese products. For a few extra dollars they will print any name on the item you want. Make no mistake if you deal with Music123 you will regret it.

I purchased the Super jet metal mouthpiece four tenor saxophone from music 123 They sent me the wrong item. I ordered Jodie just super jet mouthpiece for tenor saxophone and they sent me the wrong item. When Icalled them they said nothing they can do about it I do not recommend to purchase anything from Music 1 for three.

Untrustworthy Company that Doesn't Honor thier Own Policies

Over the years I have have purchased lots of gear and I'm pretty loyal to the music stores I shop at but my experience with Music123 was so poor years ago that I vowed never to buy another item from their store ever again. Some years ago I purchased an Alesis Amplifier and some Alesis studio monitor speakers. I was so happy to order my first pair of professional monitors. When the UPS man came and dropped off my long awaited package I went to pull the amplifier out the box and heard rattling inside of it like something important had come loose. It was clear that it was broken. I didn't bother to plug it in not wanting to start a fire or something. I called up Music123 and told them that the Amplifier they sent me was broken. They weren't in the least bit apologetic and instead had me return everything back to them like it was a regular return order and not a damaged item on their or UPS's part. They only offered me "Store Credit" no offer of an exchange or anything. This was about $800 worth of stuff and they would not give me a refund for their damaged junk they shipped me only store credit. They really took advantage of me. After arguing with the manager about their lack of customer service" I really got the understanding that this company could careless about it's customers. I used the store credit to purchase some music gear and when I received those items too they were also damaged. Obviously annoyed I returned them and spoke to the manager who was rude about the entire thing like it was his $800 lost and he was forced to shop at a store he hated. So after returning their damaged junk for the second time I spoke with a manager and was rudely told that I could only place another order and wouldn't be able to return any of the items. I told the guy that the items they keep shipping me are damaged and they don't inspect the inventory they ship. At the time I was 18-19 and didn't know how to deal with rude people really or how to get my money back through my bank. So I ended up purchasing items I didn't want to exhaust the credit and sold the stuff on ebay to get my money back. Since than I never shopped at this company their business practices are very shady. Sometime ago I learned they changed their return policy to "full refund" but it seems like even now all these years later people have issues getting a refund from this place. Very untrustworthy company with varying return policies even when the circumstances surrounding it are entirely their fault.

OMG, I’m so glad I saw this AND ALL THE OTHERS!! There is a 4 thousand dollar guitar I am interested in.

On their eBay site, there are ONLY 2 pictures!! There are 4 slots for pics, but 2 only appear. I messaged them asking for a couple of pictures and stayed that I’d just like to see the entire guitar (front and back) before spending 4 grand. You should have seen the response.

One of the things they said, and I quote, “we don’t have a warehouse person that can just run around all day taking pictures for you”. Seriously!?!?! I mean, who in their right mind would say that? Do you know how many widgets they have to sell to make up 4 grand?!?

I got so pissed that I was going to call and let management know. So I started to research them and I honestly couldn’t find ONE thing that made me feel good about following through. I will NEVER look their way again. Supposedly a family business from the early 1900’s that went “big time in 1999”.

Good riddance Music 123. You are a joke and should be ashamed of the way you treat potential (now a LOST) customers!!!

And to add insult to injury here is their response to my complaint. They ADMIT it was their mistake after numerous lies blaming it on amazon and telling amazon it was out of stock and think a "goodwill" 20 dollar gift card will just make it go away.

Here is proof that they not only have no respect for you as a customer or any respect for basic business ethics but think you are *** as well. Yeah sure....I'm naive enough to believe that you "accidentally" make a pricing mistake and conned me into buying your imaginary product on AMAZON PRIME DAY thus causing me to miss out on LEGIT deals that were available. It was all just an honest mistake right? BS!!!!!!!!

Guitar Center does business as Music123 on Amazon. I purchased a bass at a deep discount on Amazon Prime day 7/11/2017. Following day I receive email saying my order is cancelled for "technical issues" When I call them they blame an amazon pricing error. When I call amazon they say that Music123 submitted the price and that is was correct. They also said Music123 told them to cancel the order due to out of stock. Amazon rep investigates and finds same item still in stock and on sale on their website for 629.00 vs the 112 that they sold it to me for the prior day. I open an investigation with amazon. I call back Music123 (who claims on the amazon website that they are a Philadelphia family owned music store even though research reveals that they are actually based in California and they answer the phone as guitar center) and inform them that I found out they were lying to me earlier and they try to sell me the same guitar at a "generous" price of 580.00. Quite an elaborate bait and switch. Very dishonest company. Do not buy from Guitar Center or any of its shadow companies (Music123, Musicians friend, etc. just do a wiki for the whole list)

Purchased a product and paid for it through amazon. Music123 sent wrong item, didn't offer to pay return shipping and only offered me a refund not an exchange as there was a pricing discrepancy on their end which they claim they are not responsible for.... When I contacted them they copy and pasted their return policy to me and were dismissive and demeaning in their communication... wouldn't answer direct questions and simply indicated that maybe I couldn't read well.....WTF? Well I hope they can read well enough to understand this review! They will be seeing it EVERYWHERE! Don't do business with these *** there are plenty 'Reputable' businesses to work with!

Lousy Return Policy

Very unsatisfied with Music123's attitude towards returns. Bought the 2 items on Amazon during Black Friday frenzy and then cancelled/returned them due to finding 'em cheaper elsewhere. I requested a return before even receiving (still have not received items) and got major pushback by Music123 which wanted to charge shipping for both send and return (about 15% of total purchase). Seller wasn't familiar with Amazon Prime shipping policy and continues to stall. Never had this happen with any other Amazon seller and I've been a Prime member since 2002. Still waiting for my full refund. They don't seem to get how fundamental it is to keep a customer happy. Check out their reviews online before buying form them. I wish I had.

Music123 and its affiliate companies Musician's Friend and Guitar Center are among the biggest scammers on eBay. My son purchased an "open-box" Recording King ROS-16 from them. This was a specific guitar, with a detailed description of "light scratches on front, sides and back". He paid the BIN price of $304 with PayPal. The next day he received a notification that his payment had been refunded, with no explanation. He called Music123 and got a sales associate who told him "that guitar is no longer in production" and that's why they canceled his order. Leave aside for a moment that if it was true the guitar was no longer in production then Music123 shouldn't have had a listing for it. But in this case it's irrelevant, because my son's purchase was for a SPECIFIC open-box item. Additionally, Recording King continues to list the guitar as in production, and Music 123 as well as its affiliates Musician's Friend and Guitar Center all show the guitar as "in stock and available for immediate delivery" so long as you're willing to pay the $426 for a new-in-box version. In other words the associate OUTRIGHT LIED ABOUT THE REASON THEY UNILATERALLY CANCELED HIS ORDER. I was so angry I called back and spoke to a second sales associate, who told me the guitar had been sold (no doubt they got a better price than they were asking on eBay). I asked what entitled them to make that my son's problem: they listed the item and should have been made to fulfill the purchase like any other eBay seller. She hemmed and hawed awhile before asking to put me on hold for what proved to be an interminable wait; when she came back she said she could offer me an 8% discount on a new ROS-16, a whopping $34 that would bring the price down to $392, well beyond my son's budget. I've EASILY bought more than $30K of gear from MF, GC and M123 over the past 15 years. After this I won't buy so much as a guitar pick from them in the future. They're scammers and always have been. When I made my first visit to a GC when the opened their first store in the DC area some 15 year or so ago, I went to buy a Taylor 414. It was like visiting a car dealer. When we got to the counter the salesman asked "did you want case with that?" When I informed it CAME with a case he insisted it didn't. That commenced a typical car dealer experience where he offered me a TKL case for $200 (available anywhere else for $100), insisting the Taylor case was $325. I told him I wanted the included Taylor case. He does the "let me talk to my manager" routine, comes back and says "I can let you have 10% off the TKL case". I told him I was leaving and he begged me to wait while he "talked to his manager" again. He came back and said he could let me have the Taylor case for $200. I told him, "I'm outta here" and headed to the door. He chased after me and said, "wait, wait, I'll throw in the Taylor case." A music conglomerate that's nothing but a bunch of scammers.

Be careful guys, this company adds the optional items with the picture of the item you want to buy on their website, never explain that the items shown are "OPTIONAL", except in tiny tiny microscopic fonts somewhere in few pages later. When you purchase the item and realize something is missing and contact the company, of course they explain that in one little tiny area lost among other pages, there was an ambiguous line that explains the shown items are optional. Now why there are more pictures about optional items than the original item in the items page? That by itself tells you a lot about the level of this company and how they do business... By the way, if you want to return the item, the shipping cost is on you. Your other option is to pay again to purchase the optional items. And you may ask what are these "OPTIONAL" items? Well, they include the POWER CORD, POWER ADAPTER, SUSTAIN PEDAL and a HEADPHONE. as you can see the first two items are not OPTIONAL at all and you NEED them to be able to operate the original item...! Very tricky!!!

“First of all I have to start saying that this is the worst experience I've ever had on Ebay after almost 10 years as a heavy user. The problem I am having with the seller is the reason why so many customers are leaving Ebay to other companies with better user experience and with more control on companies who literally screw their customers in any way and get away with it. I purchased an item on March 30 2016 for $1699 that was supposed to be delivered by April 6th 2016. On that same date and after "not" receiving anything I sent my first communication to seller. Then came another and another. Seller kept promising new dates for delivery and nothing ever happened. In the mean time I have lost $350 on credit card interest that I demand to recover since its taken a month and I haven't received my item. I lost my customer and two more potential buyers due to this lye on the product availability. This company has used my money for a full month and was never able to give a simple tracking number. I have purchased items from China for $4 and I got an immediate tracking number. This company music123 is offering expensive products that they do not have and are promising delivery dates that are not "real". They are lying to customers and doing this scam with who knows how many customers. The latest communication from them after this full month doesn't give a hint on the product and they are offering only a $20 compensation. Really????? Great customer service. I demand EBAY takes action on this company and their sales policies and I want immediate REFUND and COMPENSATION for the money I lost in interest and business losses.”

Horrible customer service

I ordered YAMAHA YDP 142 and also requested 2day express last Friday, because my wife needs it to use this weekend. I have got a pianot, however, the piano was not working properly. Especially, a lot of left side keys are not able to push down. Also, pedals were not working. Anyway, I called to customer service to return and to get a new one, but your representative said I needed to pay for express shipping again, if I want to get a replacement until this week. What a ridiculous situation. It was not my fault and I paid 2day express shipping for my original order and it took more than 3days. I ordered the replacement and paid another $699.99 by standard shipping. I don't understand why I need to pay for another express shipping. This is totally not my fault and it is your responsible. Moreover, he said that I have to wait at home when UPS people to pick it up. He did not provide me a return lable. Who do you think can wait them all day long only for return this item? Anyway, I paid another $699.99 for the replacement and I need to wait to get a refund until you get the original piano from me. I have never experienced this horrible customer care. Currently, I bought a $15 bluetooth transmitter on Amazon and I had to return it, and they actually sent me a return label for easy return even it is only $15!!!! You guys have to learn how to deal your customer!!!

Music 123, shipped wrong item, followed up with bad customer service.

I ordered a “scratch and dent” bass cabinet and a “blemished” bass cabinet. The “blemished” one showed up as a brand new cabinet that is a cheapo brand worth half of the cabinet I ordered. It was an 8x10, I ordered a 4x10, they should be hard to mix up. I asked if they could do some research and figure out where my item was as I still wanted it and it was a great deal. They said there was nothing they could do and would not research my item’s location. The “scratch and dent” one was pretty busted up and was more than scratch and dent, plus without the matching 4x10 that was to go with this, it was of no use to me. They set up a return shipment with UPS scheduled to come pick up (3 attempt ). I left work early twice and missed them. That is not Music 123’s fault, however, to catch UPS I had to leave work early anyway so Music 123 did cost me a few hours of pay. I eventually had to borrow a truck because the 8x10 didn’t fit in my car, and bring to UPS myself. Now the packages have arrived at Music 123 and when I called to inquire about my refund, they said they are busy and it will be another week before they process it! I am willing to bet it won’t be for the right amount and I will have to call them back again. I was charged the minute the shipping tag was created, I should have been refunded the minute this was in UPS hands for return! I needed new cabinets, this whole process will end up costing me over a month with no gear and I can’t order somewhere else until they give me my money back. Skip Music 123, there are lots of alternatives online.

Amazon users beware when purchasing an item through this company. I ordered my daughter a brand new guitar for her "Santa" gift back at the end of November. I had it shipped out of state as we were spending Christmas elsewhere. We arrive Christmas Eve and open the box to set up only to find the neck on the guitar is busted. What a heartbreaker. Not Music123s fault that we opened the package last minute but was definitely a let down non-the-less. Now the part that makes me angry. I shipped the guitar immediately on the 26th of December and get tracking confirmation that they received. over the past month I have gotten nothing but the run around on getting my refund. They kept claiming they had already returned my money but this was untrue. They were also going to charge me 15 dollars return shipping for a defective item then sent me. I finally opened a dispute through Amazon and today I finally received my refund. Terrible company who lies to their customers. I will never do business again.
