Humiliated Me!!!

6 months ago I moved to a town 150 miles away from the bank that my husband and I use. We direct deposit our paychecks and he uses a debit card on the account and I write checks on the account. He works 370 miles away from our new home and is only home on the weekends or we go see him so changing banks has not been an option yet. I DO NOT carry cash on me and dont have a debit card. I write checks for everything. I went to Murphy Oil yesterday to get gas, I have been writing checks here for 6 months. My check was declined and had no other way to pay fo rthe transaction and still have no other way to pay for the transaction otehr than another check. When I called Certegy to find out what the problem was she told me that there was no problem just that my check was declined on some kind of fraud watch and that they do that to protect consumers and customers. How is this protecting anyone?

So the Murphy employee humiliated you by following the instructions of the check certification company? Could they do otherwise?
