Clutch failed on used Mustang 6 weeks after purchase

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My son purchases a used 2005 Ford Mustang with about 89000 miles on it less than 6 weeks ago. He was shown this convertible on a nice sunny day. He has never driven a clutch and the salesman knew that. Also he was approved for a 5000 loan and they sold him a 8000 car. Which I do get was his decision. But come on, you show him a gorgeous mustang convertable on a sunny day with a clutch. He asked for an automatic when he came to buy.

Now the clutch has gone out, Ford is refusing to repair it for him. They told him clutch's are not covered under the extended warranty. Stating they don't know how he drove on that clutch.

How is he supposed to know how the previous owner drove that car, what is the repair history of that clutch if any, was it ever repaired or replaced? How does he know if the previous owner was having problems with that clutch?

He actually hasn't driven it too many miles and learned fairly quickly how to drive that clutch. I drove it the day he got it, and told him it was really stiff.

Now I learned to drive a clutch on a used Toyota with over 110,000 miles on it and that clutch lasted another 100,000 miles. That is the difference between a Ford and a Toyota,Subaru and VW.

My daughter learned to drive her clutch on her very used Subaru and guess what that clutch never failed her.

All they have to do is repair or replace that clutch, oh and they want to charge him lot fees. Now he is starting a new job, has no car and no way to pay for that clutch at $1800, they told him to apply for Ford Motor Credit. FIX THAT CAR IN GOOD FAITH.

Ford Escape Recall

My sister just purchased a brand new Ford Escape. Her monthly payment is over 500.00 per mo.

Mullinax Ford in Kississime, Fl. has had her vehicle since Dec. 08,2012 My ? is who is going to pay het months payment since she has not even had her NEW vehicle all month.

The value of this vehicle has ddramatically dropped. Thomas Smith, brother of Arla Tweedy, 1266 Drill ave. Palm Bay, Fl.The people at Mullinax said it was just a minor problem, they only needed to download new info to her vehicle computer. Not so, It now turns out that they have to change her transmission too. So a simple 1 Day job has turned out to be a nightmare.

This is bull----. It's absolutely unacceptable.
