Beware of MoviePass Club

I've been a member of MoviePass for months and was very happy with it in the beginning. Then they started changing their policies first, removing blockbuster movies, then limiting movies, then needing a photo of the ticket and changing the number of movies allowed per month from unlimited to 3. All of that was okay. Now we can only see the movies listed on their website for today's date. That would also be acceptable because there are 12 movies showing for today. However, when you get to the theater to sign in for the movie, there are only 2 movies to choose from. We've been unable to see a movie for two weeks because the choice is so poor. I contacted MoviePass using their chat feature and got nowhere. I then called them and the woman I spoke with said she couldn't help me with my phone app but to go to the theater and call each time to pick a movie. I then tried email and I got a response that they were having issues and they were sorry but I should give it time. They then gave me instructions on how to use their service that are the ones I use that don't work!!!! I emailed again and asked them to read my email before responding and they haven't responded. It's very simple, the movies they say are available aren't!!! This is either false advertising and illegal or, they have a phone app that's broken and they need to fix it!! BEWARE.

Bait-and-switch blockbusters

In the early evening, my girlfriend and I decided to go watch the Happytime Murders at Galaxy Highland in Austin. The latest showing read as 9 pm inside the app. We double checked before leaving and the movie was still available. At 830ish, in the theatre parking lot, we attempted to check in for that shoring using the app. You’re only able to check in once you’re in the parking lot if the theater or at lease a very short distance. Not only was happytime murders no long available AS PREVIOUSLY PROMISED, but all theatres in the Austin area were totally blacked out and unable to be booked. This happened on my app and my girlfriend’s. So effectively, I paid out of pocket because it was yanked from the app. Customer service proceeds to tell me they will not reimburse me for my ticket because the movie was not available for check in. It was earlier though. Then after asking more questions they admit that what is available varies and gives me a URL that I’m supposed to check INSTEAD OF THE APP for movie times. One excuse after another. This also happened to us when we tried to see Gotti a few months ago. Constant excuses. Do not buy MoviePass. You are at their mercy and you cannot trust them when they claim they will offer a service. They clearly think they’re entitled to change the rules at every turn.

Can't cancel account

Ordered in 8/17. Upon receipt realized I didn't want it. Called to cancel several times. They say I have to have an account # to cancel. Throw all that stuff away. Don't know account #. Impossible to get to them. Called 4 customer service numbers, none of them work. Have tried to cancel without an account number, but apparently can't. They must know who I am, they charge my credit card each month. It's now 7/18 and it's still going on. Tried to send a letter, but can't find out where their office is. Bunch of losers in this Facebook group rude abusive bullies

This is the Facebook group moviepass chatter. It’s a place where bunch of losers and Idiots who have MoviePass sit around and chat all day and all night about their MoviePass all the freaking time. These people are disgusting pathetic weak idiots and they have no lives. If someone at the movie theater is kicking their chair they will post it on this Facebook group. If they got the wrong drink at the movie theater they will post it on the Facebook group like a bunch of sorry loser idiots. All they do is whine and complain about their movie passes all the time they literally have no lives and are sad disgusting people. my friend recently posted an opinion on their page it was nothing bad and something very truthful and these psychos started hounding her like a pack of *** wolves. The people that go to this group and hang out there are the most pathetic people on the planet. They’re idiots losers a joke have no lives and hound and harass people for absolutely no reason. Beware you’ll lose iq points here and the people are disgusting low class trash and idiots. In fact the only way someone can hang around there is if they’re partially mentally challenged or have very low iqs or are losers or stupid. Facebook kept sending me notifications and witnessing these losers banter made me want to vomit. Then my friend just posted something very truthful abt American culture and was mass bullied the mentally challenged nasty crazy weirdos and weak idiots there. They’re a bunch of degenerate parasites beware. That attacking was just proof of it all
