Committed to buy a truck and it was sold out from under me.

The manager of Mountain Top Motor Company has reached out to apologize and offered to sell the truck to me after the repairs I requested are complete. Ar this point I think the business will do the right thing.

I have more confidence because someone actually called me this time.

Unfortunately I has to file complaints on several social media platforms and the BBB. Will update and possibly write a new review once deal is complete

On March 13th my wife and I made a 3- hour drive to Mountaintop Motors in Troy Missouri. I had several emails, texts and 1 phone call with a salesman that set up and appointment for March Sat 13th to have a truck ready for us to test drive, and he would meet us.

We showed up before lunch walked into a very busy dealership and was told the salesmen was not there and was unaccounted for. We stood for several minutes in disbelief that no one was stepping up to help us, a salesmanship finally came up and asked what we wanted to drive. Brandon got us keys and a license plate and answered a few questions. We took the truck for a drive. It was cold that morning, so we had heat running but cold air was blowing out on the passenger side under the dash We discovered the plenum had a piece broken out allowing for cold air to enter. We brought that to Brandon's attention, and he stated that it would be fixed. We also brought up the power rearview mirrors didn't work and the turn signal light on the mirrors didn't operate which would be a safety violation resulting in an equipment violation ticket. Brandon stated that he knew about the mirrors and new mirrors where ordered.

We sat down with Brandon and I told him I wanted the truck, but those 2 problems would have to be fixed or asking price adjustment should reflect me, the purchaser to take care of repairs.

I told him my concerns that the truck would get sold if we didn't come to terms now, and he assured me he would hold the truck until Monday and call me first thing Monday with answers.

Monday, March 15th I finally called Brandon my self at noon as he didn't follow through with a return call. He wasn't available when I called, and I asked for a return call. At the end of the day I made a second call and was able to talk to Brandon, and he still was working on the issues. He told me he would call me back Tuesday.

Tuesday, March 16th. No calls, so I again called and was able to talk to Brandon. I let him know I had reached out to my local Ford authorized repair and sales lot and was quoted a repair cost for mirrors and hole in plenum. Again Brandon said he would get back to me on Wednesday.

I asked Brandon if we could get this deal completed before Fri March 19th as I was leaving town for 3 days and was unable to make calls. He told me he was off on Thursday and assured me he would have answers on Wed March 17th.

On March 17th I made 4 separate calls. 2 before lunch 1 after lunch and last call 1hr before your business closing hours. Each call I asked for Brandon and was unable to talk to him, so I left a message each time with Tony who assured me Brandon would get my message. All 4 times I called Tony answered, and I was told the same thing. I had no reason to doubt Tony. I told Tony I was concerned that Brandon wouldn't hold the truck for me because he doesn't return my calls. Tony said no worries he didn't see any reason for me to worry.

I never received any return calls from Brandon ever. I always made the calls.

Furthermore, I also sent a text to Brandon's cell # listed on his card at 11:41 March 17th stating who I was and really wanted to close the deal on the truck.

In less the 3 days Brandon established a pattern of disrespect and lack of integrity.

On March 22nd roughly 9:15 am I called the dealership and to my surprise Tony once again answered the phone, and again I asked for Brandon, but he wasn't available. So I asked Tony about the truck I had spent the better part of the week before trying to purchase if I could get help. He answered me with its sold.

Tony listened to me get very mad and cuss, and he was very understanding.

I'm a business owner and I deal with customers daily. Words like honesty, integrity, and respect are very important to me not only as a business owner but as an adult and a decent human being.

To this day I have never received a return call from Brandon nor would I ever hold my breath thinking he would have the character it takes to at least have respect for me.

I was able to communicate with Tony, and he took some verbal abuse with my anger and frustration over this incredibly difficult lack of communication from his associate. I have been told by Tony that its crazy times right now, and it's a sellers market. Furthermore, I reminded him there's always the other side right around the corner.

At this point I wonder if the salesman is an example of leadership and my account of a very disorganized sales staff that disregards returning phone calls and promises made on a deal is due to a leadership that allows a business to be run this way. Maybe building relationships with customers means nothing because it's so easy to sell used vehicles right now.

I would be absolutely amazed to get any response, phone call, text, email ... *** an apology or even better the deal I was working on completed, after all that's what I worked so hard to get done with an inept salesman that lacks any integrity at all.

I won't hold my breath waiting for that response, but I have done my research and read a complaint filed with BBB that has a similar experience with a salesman named Brandon. Strange how many people refer to social media and internet platforms to read about a business before losing time with a poorly managed business.

I still am in utter disbelief the lack of respect regarding a purchase I thought was almost completed
