Terrible work

AI Highlights
  • Paid thousands for Mount Valley Foundation repair.
  • Garage pillar installed crooked and beat with a sledgehammer.
  • Arbitration clause blocks suing.

paid thousands two years ago with Mount Valley Foundation for my raised home foundation repair. The garage pillar was installed crooked and a manager came out and beat it with a sledgehammer.

A few months later all the cracks came back. They came out again and replaced the pole. Not much longer all the cracks and more came back. They came out and said it was all within specs but they would call with an estimate to put more beams in.

I said why wasnt it fixed correctly the first time and I never heard from them again even after calling them. I had a real professional foundation company come out and he says you have no idea how many times they have to fix what MVF screwed up. Have to pay more to get it fixed properly. Found out through lawyers you cant sue them because they have an arbitration clause because they rigged the system.

I thought they were competent but I was 100% wrong. Rigged the system

Cons:
  • Liars and workers have no idea what they are doing

Preferred solution: Full refund

Extremely low quality work

AI Highlights
  • Hired in 2021 for foundation and water; paid about 20K.
  • Basement leaks during heavy rain.
  • They came twice for slope, but water persists.

We hired this company 2021 because we had foundation issues and water issues. Paid around 20,000 and the basement still gets water every time there is heavy rain.

They have come twice because there was something wrong with the slope the first time they did it, and that is why the water was still getting into the basement.

I had to call multiple times and waited for months for someone to show up. The basement still gets water.

User's recommendation: NO!!!

AI Highlights
  • Justin Loe was timely, informative and listened to my concerns.
  • The assessment was accurate, with a summary, and I am confident in cost and work.

The field inspector, Justin Loe, was an absolute delightful young man. He was timely, informative and listened to my concerns.

Additionally, he did not treat the appointment as a hard salesman trying to get the job. The assessment he made was accurate, left me a summary of the assessment and I feel confident with the cost and work that needs to be done.

Not satisfied

AI Highlights
  • 3 contractors; one overcharged for skipping inspection.
  • Deposit paid Feb 21, 2020; work began Apr 2021.
  • Extra $3,000 demanded; post completion issues.

First of all, I had three different contractors come in to give me an estimate. The first contractor was thousands of dollars off, the reason is because he didn't go under the house to see all damage.

The second and third person estimates were almost the same. I gave them my deposit on February 21, 2020. They didn't start my work until the end of April 2021, job completed the first week in May 2021. I waited patiently for over a year, I guess their excuse was they were behind because of pandemic.

My work should have started April or May 2020. Before end of job I was told that I needed to pay another $3000.00 to price that was already given. Once job was completed, I had other problems, such as pipes was full of trash, I had to get a plumber to fix that. Later I found out about a problem with gas line under house, my gas company is looking into that.

Also, I need to get someone to come out and check my duct work and vents. I sent a message to one of the Managers explaining issues. I didn't hear back from him, when I finally got in touch with him, he said he didn't get message. I did try calling a Manager a few times, he didn't answer or return my call.

Also, a lot of red dirt left under house. Another question I asked were do they install plastic under house after foundation work is completed. I was told that if their were no plastic under the house before they don't replace it. I felt like once I paid MV, I was ignored after the fact.

I'm still working on trying to get repairs done and my floor is still not level. I should've been reimbursed on things that were damaged caused by contractors.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution

User's recommendation: No, I can't recommend because of problems I've experience.

AI Highlights
  • MVFS inspected my crawl space and provided a repair quote in a signed contract with a deposit.
  • They agreed to return the deposit but have not.

Mount Valley Foundation inspected my crawl space and provided a quote for repair work. The quote for the work and how it was to be performed was embodied in a contract, which I signed and paid a deposit.

MVFS decided not to perform the work in accordance with the contract and agreed to return my deposit. They still haven't returned my deposit.

Loss:

Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: Be aware MVFS may not do what they say. Their 100% satisfaction guarantee did not work for me.

Did not do what they said

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • Slab was off nearly 2 inches; raised it 1/4 inch and couldn't do more.
  • They didn't refund $4,000 and the project stretched from May to Aug.

I used them to level my slab floor. It was off nearly 2 inches on one side of the room.

They raised it 1/4 inch and said they could not do anymore. I would just have to live with it. They didn't give any money back, so I wasted 4000. dollars.

From the time of the estimate, in May, here it is the 29th day of August. They are prompt to get your money, but you'll wait quite some time to get the work d

Preferred solution: Have someone experienced in putting down concrete leveler to put it down on my floor

User's recommendation: i do not advise using them
