WHY did I ever use these guys? WHY??????

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

They are sooooooooo BAD at packing - what a joke. Now they're holding my household items for ransom.

It's a long story, but they got paid 5 times as much as their quote already. I've shed tears over this for months. I expect many things to be broken when I get them back - if I get them back. I don't know how I could be so stupid as to use these guys.

I personally liked them and they worked hard, but they just don't have professional moving experience. They've been avoiding me after the move although there is still something that they need to do. I took a chance on these guys and I feel extraordinarily let down. BTW, I used the company that is supposedly in the St.

Petersburg area.

The owner won't even tell me his last name. WTF!!!

Oh, I bet to differ. You sure did - and have - and you have been telling me that you will bring them to me and then you dropped out of sight.

My lawyer will make sure that you remember who I am, unless the police come first. Make this right and I will be happy to make a retraction. Until then, I am making it my mission to get my belongings back.

By the way, everyone should know that you do claim to put people's belongings into storage but just wait till they try to get it back. If they get you over a barrel, they keep you there with tied hands.

i would not even know where to start, 1 day delay, left refrigerator behind and other boxes, then being enlightened that it was our fault that we did not look at what they forgot to take, promised about 2500 (for a 60 miles move!?!) charged almost 3000 (including charging by the hour instead of flat fee or charging man hours instead of team hours) then threatened that if we do not pay everything in full immediately they will call police on us, on our own property, boxes left outside of the house at destination, charged for an hour for them smoking in the truck, furniture not assembled back at destination (they could not literally identify the master bedroom, probably they did not know what that meant and put the ms bedroom furniture in the already furnished kid's room, then come complaining that it's getting full, then refused to put the night tables back while being paid by the hour, because their previous day colleagues (from the very same so called company) transported them so they have no obligation, they have no damage insurance and you are actually legally their insurer for what they do during moving/working hours, then having your driveway spit off and made nervous noise in purpose (without caring about disturbing the neighbors) and deploying persons un-authorized to process credit cards so the processing is done over the phone, guys tattooed with play boy (then with erased tattoos) probably ex convicts or God knows... very nice, keep using them! image shows how they left master bedroom, after re-"assembly"

it is Florida, most people are in Florida against their will, they probably can't leave the state as they are on parole. I was forced to move here by my Wife who hates it here too, but now the swamp has a hold on us and won't let go. The movers where we came from were nice salt of the earth Americans, the movers here were convicts and "undocumented" convicts

scam, do not use them, i would not, definitely not ever again

Quinlin Hja

the last 4 attached pics are just a few things they left behind (forgot to load) from source location, not to mention refrigerator. we were told that this is our fault, because it was our obligation to make sure that they do not forget things.

plus, we also learned that they are not allowed to touch electrical appliances because employer does not insure them (is this even legal?!?) same about refrigerator (they left it behind in purpose, with premeditation because - they said "if house got flooded we would be legally responsible") credit card was processed by a person who could not process it (over the phone) - are they using ex convicts?!? i wonder...

They tell you they don't have insurance until you file a bbb complaint

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

They showed up with two guys one was a disgruntle employee that did not want to be there and then about an hour after they were there he left. Thats right you read that correctly one of the movers just left in the middle of the job after he broke a piece off a $5000 antique. Leaving 1 guy from the company that A. Didn't have phone and wasn't licensed to drive the truck. We had to call the company and tell them what was going on but they just didn't know what to say. They didn't say sorry. Jon (manager) said he would be over to help in an hour. So we sat and waited. John came and they unloaded what they loaded on the truck (leaving half of our stuff in the apartment still) now they say they have to leave to go finish another job and then come back. At this point a 3 hour job has taken 8. They come back and then all of the sudden the broken piece of furniture is fixed and they say "its good as new". After inspecting it I realize that Jon THE MANAGER took it upon himself to fix our antique! His idea of fixing was forcing 3 screws made for metal into the bottom of the wood to "appear" fixed. Now this beautiful piece is sitting slanted and not even at all and because screws were used on the soft antique wood instead of the proper equipment the wood split all the way up the piece of the furniture. What was a small repair turned into ruining the entire piece because the manager decided to handle things dishonestly instead of having some one qualified in antique repair handle his mistake. HE TRIED TO SWEEP IT UNDER THE RUG AND THAT JUST WON'T DO.

I contacted Jon directly and he response was "I repaired it, I didn't put any new holes in it I just put screws where the finishing nails were" AND "We would be happy to see you in court" All things you really don't want to hear from someone in the service industry that you are paying to handle your nice things. I asked directly for their insurance information and they kept telling me no or we'll send it to your email. Even when I asked for the policy number over the phone they refused to provide me with that information. I even called a few of their other offices and asked for their insurance information and it seemed like this was a trained response to never give out their insurance information. Odd.

I found this very strange for a moving company since they are paid $150/hour to handle peoples most valued possessions. If they don't have insurance then they should not be allowed to operate.

I have worked with many moving companies and they have all broken something in the move. Motivated Movers is the first to ever try and cover up breaking something and the first to not supply their insurance information without me having to ask. I mean thats what insurance is for thats why you pay for it MAYBE THAT'S THEIR SCAM.

UPDATE 9/13/16:

After speaking to management and ownership I am even unimpressed with this company than I originally was. Finally after I filed a complaint with the BBB I got someone to respond properly to me and direct me to their insurance provider. But Ben Black instead of offering apologies and wanting to make sure he preserves a customer, only offered excuses for his employees telling me that the employee that walked out in the middle of the job was his "best worker" and the manager that took it upon himself to "fix" a leg they broke off an antique as his most loyal and trustworthy employee and he does fixes things all the time. No "I'm sorry" just it is what it is and "my employees did nothing wrong?!" What I gathered from my conversation with Ben was that he trains his employees to be just the way they represented themselves on our move. This company is dishonest and I would not trust them to move my trash can to the end of the driveway. Motivated movers in Birmingham is the same owner as Nashville Location and all locations they are all under the same franchise.

IF THEY MOVE LIKE THEY DRIVE, DON'T USE THEM!

Today, on Carroll Street in Sunnyvale, I was the only car moving South. I was in the right lane.

There was no traffic. One car properly pulled out of a driveway on my right, turned in front of me to travel in the opposite direction in the other lane. Although there was no room to do so, the driver of a MM truck sped out of a driveway, cutting me off. He had to stop because he couldn't make the turn around my car -- that's how close I was when he pulled in front of me.

I had the right of way -- he nearly caused a crash.

Clearly, not respectful of other drivers, the contents of his truck, or of rules of driving. Based on that behavior alone, I would not trust this company.

Unresponsive post move

While they were very accommodating prior to the move they seriously damaged our China closet and now will not return calls or send anyone out to look at it. We paid $12,000 for the move and extra for insurance but can not get them to honor their obligation.

They used a lot of inexperienced kids who didn't know what they were doing. They may be alright for small moves or if you do not have a lot of nice furniture but we would not recommend them.

Re location at 4225 JVL Ind Park Dr Bldg 2 Marietta, Ga 30066

Driver for Motivated Movers went through my yard on Thursday 11/5/15 I called that night and left message and called next day spoke to Jeff he and went to see my yard after we spoke. He said it didn't look that bad, however the week prior to this incident I spent 4000.00 having sod put down in my yard and had rained for the entire week the driver went through the front of my yard left grooves in it had to have soil put back in and yard rolled by landscaper.

Another company tore up another part of my yard the following Saturday 11/7/15 and they have already paid their 75.00 repair to my yard and now I will await the company's call with payment status of 75.00 for yard repair. Still waiting on response and payment as of 11/18/15.

I left a message yesterday again no response. I have checked to find a corporate office for this company to no avail.

Motivated Movers, DO NOT HIRE THESE GUYS!

Original review updated Sep 23, 2023

In reference to job number 027, date of move April 23-26, 2012. I paid $5,390.00 that's a lot of money to have my things damaged.

The entire move was a fiasco my leather couch and chair was damaged because these fools cushioned the boxes with my Ethan Allen furniture. I have contacted the company numerous times, they will not return my calls or emails. I gave them a chance to make things right they have not! Below is all the items they damaged I have sent the owner of the company numerous pictures to show the damage his company has done, no contact.

The owner's email is Jefftsmith@***.net Motivated Movers based in Alabama/Florida are owned by the same owner, BEWARE!!!

List of damages to my property, pictures correspond to numerical list.

1.Picture of Child and myself packed face to face, not back to back as others companies have told me is the accepted way to pack pictures. This picture is 20 years old and cannot be replaced, since my children have grown up. Estimate repair at $500.00

2.Elephant picture, chunk of frame from packing damage. 3 separate damages noted.

New picture cost $250.00

3.Lampshade to small white lamp damaged from careless packing.

4.Leather Sofa from Ethan Allen, brand new cost $3000.00 on sale. Chunk of leather missing, I saw my leather cushion in truck crammed on top of all the boxes unwrapped and used as a cushion for boxes.

5.This picture shows box is marked âœthis side upâ the unpackers placed box wrong side up; this was filled with fragile items. Numerous lampshades were damaged because of this incorrect marking. $200.00

6.Picture of lamp base for tall lamp has gouge marks in the wood.

Torch lamp $200.00 previous to move no damages were on this property.

7.Nice mirror found packed with no paper and found in box facing another picture. $250.00

8.Large scuff mark on new leather chair that mark is wore all the way through to the wood. $500.00

The experience of this move was unbelievable with the damages to our property. We pay a great deal of money for our things; we take pride in a nice looking home.

These movers treated our property as trash; perhaps they do not own nice things and do not know how to pack property correctly. We bought these movers breakfast and lunch and offered them numerous cold drinks; we have been wronged and now demand financial compensation to repair the damages to our property. I have enclosed all communication to Motivated Movers about my complaint on this site.

I do not hide I am an honest consumer that expected Motivated Movers to do the right thing. Motivated Movers are cowards that hide.

MOTIVATED MOVERS

Caveat Emptor.

Number 1)Do not use their non-refundable deposit option even if they

state as requirement. You'll be sorry later.

Number 2) VERY SORRY! Can some say 'professional'?? They brought no truck, no packaging materials, no covers, no tape, no cutters, no boxes, two guys that stated they were just temporary and didn't even work for the company, dragged their heals and were talking about tips before they even twenty five percent done doing anything, they kept bringing up the obvious so I wouldn't know what it was that they broke. They people are a disease. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!
