- - Advertised AKC health-guaranteed English Creme Golden Retriever.
- - At 1-year exam, 4-5 molars missing; 2 pulled; no core health clearances.
I purchased an advertised AKC health guaranteed English Creme Golden Retriever puppy one year ago. At 1 year wellness visit, it was determined 4-5 of her permanent molar were misssing.
In addition, they had to pull 2 more that were missing roots and/or abcessed. Now missing 33% of her lower teeth (again mentioning full bred registered golden)...upon research AKC and OFA, breeder did not do 3 of the 4 recommended core health clearances...eyes, ear and elbows on sire, none on dam! It seems breeder skimped or simply did not do health certs altho she checked box that said she did...had I known this, I definitely would not have purchased from this breeder...read up on puppy lemon laws ans warranty of merchantability.
I have 5K into thid dog and love her, but now need to buy lifetime pet insurance, she now has preexisting condition, and may have potential problems for the rest of her life! I am pissed!
