BEWARE OF THIS ATTORNEY AND THE PARTNERS AT THE FIRM INCLUDING MARTHA ITURRIOZ.

THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. OVER-BILL, BLAME THE CLIENT AND NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM.

I REPORTED THEM TO THE CALIFORNIA STATE BAR AND THE LOS ANGELES BAR ASSOCIATION.

I'm saddened with disgust.

This is long but I hope this is a warning for someone else so they too will not loose money in choosing representation here.

I was given the number to this Law firm from a very trusted friend that is well connected to the city and is quite resourceful on most business's here in the city of Long Beach.

When I had my consultation with

Ms Larossa, I felt very comfortable going over all details of my custody orders and concerns as family court is a place where no one wishes to have their most private matters for all see. This is were most are very vulnerable and rely on those to have compassion and approach families matters with a sincere and professional stance. Here I did feel safe and hired this firm and wrote a check for $4k.

This is the retainer and with this amount discussed in our consultation, would cover an upcoming court date ($1500), and family planning (detailed mediation of parties for a new custody order)which could mean at least 3 more court hearings if needed. I agreed.

Two days prior to my court date I provided all needed docs and Martha represented me in court.

We were in and out as the Judge too had all of the needed docs and and the case was closed. I just needed a lawyer by my side as i knew representation was truely needed for future court hearings.

This is where the mistake was made!

Two weeks later I called the firm stating I was ready to move forward with filing the needed documents with the courts as we discussed.

Ms Larossa then states that I would be receiving a bill for 11 hours billed and my retainer was DEPLETED!!!

I could not believe this!

How was this possible if I provided all documents, and there were no orders filed outside of notifying the courts of my representation. No other work was requested but to show up to court.

Via email, To make matters worse, when I questioned the "billed hours"(never received a bill)

she denied the conversation at the consultation, then I stated/asked how could I have come to the amount of 4k in which I wrote the check for?

She then became rude stating i signed a contract and I misunderstood how law works.

Today is week #4 since my court date i finally after several emails, got a conference call from Martha that was to review all the correspondence between Ms Larossa, only to be told "She didn't have my file in front of her and if I received this magical bill"? Wow and really?!

There are still no filed documents and I am to receive a call back Friday.......
