Kia Soul need motor at 27-k miles!
We bought this car new in 2011. On about 9/14/12 it was serivce again at Moritz Kia of Hurst, Texas. The car was park all weekend after the service then started on Monday morning ready to go to work and the engine had a loud tick from the upper end, checked oil level and found it was a quart over full. Returned the car to Moritz and let them keep it overnight to check the noise and oil level. They found they did over fill it and heard the noise then located the problem and let me know that they (Kia) was getting us a NEW LONG BLOCK.... Then was called a few days later and told the car was ready to go, so I drove to get it and before signing anything I was reading the details and seen that they installed a reman. long block instead of the new one like I was told. Not happy at this point I questioned the warranty details on this engine and the serivce people looked like they was lost and had no clue what I was talking about. After a few phone calls I was told "you should have the remainder of the 10/100 factory warranty".. The questioning the details about the "reman" engine I was told they (Kia) did not have to disclose any details and all they (Moritz) knew was the engine has "some" new parts in it! (per the service mgr.) The service mgr. acted as if this was funny so I contacted the GM and thought I was getting help from him when speaking with him on the phone, but after talking to him in person on 10/2/12 we got ZERO from him other than a detail/clean up on the car and was offer 1/2 price on the next major service. We was told we was getting warranty details in writing along with the 30-k service, now the GM changed his story and will not give us the paper work on the serivce or any details on the warranty to confirm this reman engine has the full warranty other than the service mgr. wrote on the service sheet that this was a complaint kia engine! Now on 10/3/12 the engine has a funny noise again and after looking all over and under the car we found bolts missing that hold the engine to the transmission and also found bolts missing from the dust covers under the car. Called the GM back and now he refuses to do anything about this problem because we mentioned maybe needing to talk to a lawyer about getting help with this mess. So we called yet another Kia dealer and ask them about checking out the engine (noise) and missing bolts and was told they could check it out but would have to charge us since another dealer did the warranty work.....Now it makes me think I we end up having trouble with this engine down the road and take it to another Kia dealer or we going to be charged for waht was to be warranty work???
