2004 Dodge 2500 Cummins / hard start / customer service told me my truck is 14 years old what do you want us to do?

I took my truck in after it having hard starts in the morning and won’t start at all if cold out. Moritz of Fort Worth did the diagnostics and told me the lift pump was bad but they can’t get one till December? So I’m supposed to do without my truck for three months I guess. They gave me a parts number and you can’t cross reference it to find one, I took it to the guy who does my fleet trucks. He pulled the pump and it’s pumping. So apparently dodges mechanics are doing a process of elimination on the problem, instead of getting to the root of the problem. Well we found a new lift pump and replaced it and it’s still doing the same thing. Called today and got we didn’t do the work bs So now I’m out 800 and the customer service rep told me well your truck is 14 years old so buy a new one! I lost it. I shouldn’t have to get a new truck I just want mine fixed and fixed right. What happened to good customer service? Oh yeah technology has ruined it

Frustrating. But there does come a time when you just can't fix everything ; like the little Dutch boy sticking his fingers in the leaky dam.

I'm surprised they didn't hustle you into an office, take your current keys, and hold you for ransom while you bought a new vehicle - that, after all is their business, not repairing ones from the early G.W. Bush days.

14-15 years is a lot of good service from any vehicle. And maybe the local techs are bumpkins - they misdiagnosed your problem.

I’m NEVER getting another Dodge

Dodge is the type of greedy corporate entity that puts out a coupon then does everything they can to get out of letting u use to save $50. Considering This single mother just spent every penny I had saved up for Xmas on this rediculous repair so this car can pass an inspection ($500 a totally unexpected expense) u would think they may give a girl a break. But these greedy bastards want every penny they can get. Terry Kasey at Moritz Dodge in FW just ruined what was left of our Xmas, and lost what was a life long Dodge customer. Merry Xmas Terry. I hop u and dodge choke on the extra $50. Didn’t make a *** to u, but would have made it possible to get my kid one decent present - *** you and *** dodge
