After threatening to call my lawyer, David said he would send techs back to my house. On March 1, a tech named Brandon and another tech whose name I don’t recall visited to fix the oven.

I video taped the entire conversation. They replaced the igniter, which looked old to me. They showed me the thermometer which looked brand new. The other companies I consulted with said it was not new so they either didn’t look at it or lied to me.

These repair people are not trustworthy! Brandon and his cohort brought a box with a part called a DPI (I think). On one of the previous visits, one of the techs mentioned that something else should be replaced which was probably this part, but when I called David after that visit, he had no idea what I was talking about. It’s interesting that they knew which part to bring on March 1…Brandon got behind the oven to replace this DPI, and it was the wrong one.

He called someone who brought the correct DPI to my house. While we waited, Brandon sent his cohort to Home Depot to get an oven thermometer. While he was away, Brandon expressed remorse that I had a bad experience and said he wanted to make it right. I have that all on video.

He also managed to repair the red light that indicates the oven is on. His cohort arrived with a Webber grill thermometer which wouldn’t work, but I thanked them for trying. Then the correct DPI arrived and they spent about 45 minutes installing it. Brandon had to read the instructions.

Once it was installed, the oven seemed to be working. Before they left, Brandon gave me his cell and told me to text him directly if I still had problems. That night, I cooked a frozen meal per the instructions, and it was still frozen in the center after cooking for the allotted time. I put it back in the oven for 15 minutes and it was not frozen.

I texted Brandon and he was stumped. I ordered a thermometer from Amazon so I suggested waiting until it arrived to do anything.

The delivery was delayed and it arrived today. I will try it tonight and report back to Brandon tomorrow.

I do not recommend Morgan Appliance repair.
When I bought my condo in 2010, my Viking range was part of the appliance package. In the fall of 2023, I noticed it was not heating properly.
I did not know who to call, so I consulted the Viking corporate site and Morgans was a recommended repair company.

On 12/23/23, I left a voice message and I received a response via text on 12/24. I made an appt for 12/28. The techs arrived at 9:30 and their names are Brandon and Adam. They determined that the stove needed a new thermometer and igniter.

It cost $1,534.13 to repair, which they claimed is expected with a fancy range. After taking a check for a 50% deposit, they said they would order the parts and be in touch. By 1/17, I hadnt heard anything, so I called and made an appointment for 1/23.
On 1/23, a tech named Adam arrived, and he asked why he was here. I was surprised because he was at the initial diagnostic appointment.

I explained that he was supposed to replace the igniter and thermometer. He worked for two hours, and he said it was fixed. He also repaired the red light that indicates the oven is on.
In hindsight, I realized that he arrived with a very small tool bag (probably 13l x 5h x4w) and did not appear to have the new parts with him. Did he actually replace the thermometer and igniter?

I dont think so because that night I used the oven for a frozen meal. I followed the instructions and part of it was still frozen after 45 minutes. I put it back in for another 15, and it was not frozen, but cool to the touch in the center.
Representatives from Morgan Appliance company returned to my house 4 times after the installation to access the oven. Each time they assured me my oven was fixed.

They also implied that it was user error rather than faulty parts. I did not appreciate their insinuations. It was still not working and I was not at fault.
Then Morgan stopped returning my calls.
On February 17th, I consulted two different appliance repair companies to determine why my oven was not working. Both techs concluded that the igniter and the thermostat were faulty and neither was new.

Both provided me with estimates to repair my oven that are 1/4 and 1/3 the cost Morgan charged me respectively.
As I suspected, Morgan Appliances did not replace the igniter or the thermostat on 1/23.
On 2/17, I sent them an email explaining what the two techs ascertained. I received an apologetic response with promises to repair my range by the end of February. Its now the end of February and they are neither returning my calls nor responding to my emails.
I have been very firm, but pleasant throughout the entire process, but I am done with them.

I would like a refund from Morgan for $1,534.14 for services NOT rendered plus $380 to cover the cost to have a different company repair it. Thats a total of $1,914.14.
I am prepared to go to small claims court to get my money back.
