Moraine Park Technical College Class Shortening Scam

My wife was in her second-last semester of the LPN to RN progression program at Moraine Park Technical College, West Bend, Wisconsin. She was enrolled in two courses: Nursing Concepts 3 and Mental Health. Well lo and behold; MPTC decided they could make a lot more money by shortening these 16-week courses to 4 weeks! Why? 1. 4x the student fees 2. 4x the book sales 3. 4x the book buyback/reselling scam 4. Unlimited “retakes” as the drop-out/failure rate is 50%+. A couple months ago, they had the gall to ask her to complete a survey as to why she (and so many others) quit MPTC. Well, Duh! So, they called her back to announce their “revamped courses”: same 4-week ***, but meeting twice a week instead of once a week. Lesson not learned: One cannot complete 16 weeks of coursework in 4 weeks. Does MPTC care? Obviously not! Money comes first, students come last.
