So this morning they were suppose to deliver the 2 trees I went all the way to Riverside to pick out as an exchange for the tiny 2-3 year old trees they were palming off as 5-7 year trees. So the trees arrive.

They are the small ones from Chino. Not the ones I picked out in Riverside. They tried to tell me they were the trees from Riverside, but when I flipped over the tree description tag, it said Washington Navel. I picked out a Valencia.

So I ran back out to the truck and told them, these are NOT the trees I picked out. They got on the phone to Chino and said that the trees were still at Riverside that I picked out and they would have them delivered a little later. I called Riverside and spoke to a nice girl who wrote down everything I told her. That we had gone there on Saturday and picked out 2 trees, etc.

She did call me back and said that the Chino truck was there to pick up the trees and at first she couldn't find them, but I stayed on the phone with her and she finally found them. They were delivered about an hour later. The more I thought about it, the more I know Chino tried to pull a fast one. I don't know why they would do that.

But when I picked out the trees the first time, I knew I had gotten the last Valencia orange tree in the 24 inch box. So when they tried to deliver another batch of small 3 year trees, when it said Washington Navel, I knew it was from Chino and that someone told the help there to just go and pick out a orange tree and a tangerine tree.

Why would they try to do this bait and switch? I am very disappointed in Chino.

Moon Vally Nursery will price match. They say you get free planting, but actually you pay 166.00 per plant or more for them to dig the hole and plant the plant.

I would suggest if you go to them to purchase a tree that you pay to have it delivered and then go to home depot and get someone to dig the hole. The gimmick is...example. You buy 3 trees for 366.00 each, then you find it advertised from 175.00-200.00 each. Well, as long as you don't have them dig the hole, they will price match.

If they dig the whole they will tell you that the FREE planting fee is the difference between the price match and what you paid them. Example 366.00 Moon Valley price with Free planting. Sunshine nursery 200.00 no planting at all. So Moon Valley will tell you the free planting fee is 166.00 per tree.

If you pay 500.00 for a tree and Sunshine gets 200.00 for the same tree, again the Free planting fee is 300.00 per tree. Because the fine print says will price match plus services. So I would personally tell everyone to go to Sunshine Nursery, or Adam Hall Nursery and have it delivered and go to Home Depot, grab a day laborer and rent the tool to dig the hole. A lot cheaper.

Moon Valley sold me 2 plants in a 24 inch box, these 2 were smaller than 15 gallon size. How you know these were NOT 5-7 year trees as when they were planted, a normal 5-7 yr tree will keep it's shape while planting. These fell apart. Like pouring compost with a stick in it.

We spoke to the manager, who everyone is super, super nice. She agreed to replace these two plants. I asked for the price match since I was going to replant them. At first she was saying that they had already dug the hole, but finally gave me a store credit, plus told me to keep the tiny trees as they would probably die if they dug them up.

Plus she gave me 2 free fertilizers they sell. We had to drive to Riverside Moon Valley to pick out larger 24 inch box trees because the Chino location only had those tiny trees being sold as 5-7 years and no way, maybe 2-3 year. So it came close enough to satisfy me.

But I still would tell everyone, in fact I just told my friend who mentioned this nursery that will plant them for free. I told her, no, go to Sunshine in Ontario or Adam Hall in Morino Vally
