Sold me non-working Refrigerator and won't honor his 30-day warranty
- Dan, aka Dan/Danny/Chuck, is accused.
- Craigslist trade-ins are sold as new; he delivers a new-to-you appliance and takes your old unit.
Charles Daniel Jeko...This guy also goes by a few different names too ("Dan" or "Danny" or "Chuck"). Either way, it's the same scam artist!
I've pulled a lot of information online about this guy.
Google Daniel Jeko, you will get a lot more information about him....He is a multiple-convicted criminal! Do your due diligence before you buy anything from any "business" (he sells mostly on Craigslist).
All the appliances (especially refrigerators) he lists on Craigslist are trade-ins, which is fine but, he sells someone else your trade-in appliance that doesn't work. He delivers the "new to you" appliance and takes your old one. He doesn't clean the old appliance at all, or even fix the problems with it.
He then re-lists your old appliance on Craigslist and sells the broken appliance to some other unsuspecting buyer.
If you call him about an appliance and ask how old it is, he'll just say "it's pretty new". He sold us a 13 year old refrigerator. How is that "pretty new"? You're lucky to get 15 years out of a new refrigerator, so how is a 13 year old fridge "pretty new"?
The refrigerator we got had a blown out compressor and never got cold after several days of it being plugged in.
Dan will NOT call you back.
You have to leave a message. Then he will text you and say that he'll call you in a 1/2 hour, which he never does. He will also casually mention that he's been on the phone with his lawyer. This is basically a scare tactic, so you don't try to sue him.
Most of you will not pursue it any longer. Don't be scared. This guy is not going to have a lawyer on retainer for a $500 appliance. He's a liar, trying to scare you from doing anything.
That's free money for him.
Small Claims Court is only a $55 filing fee in Lucas County. You don't need a lawyer as you can sue him in Small Claims court for up to $6,000.
If you get him to do something about your "new" non-working appliance, it will just be an exchange and he will never give you your money back.
He ONLY ACCEPTS CASH, so good luck trying to get cash back out of this guy.
If you get him to exchange another appliance for you, you will get something you didn't buy...it will either be a totally different model, Type, OR it will be an older model.Don't give this guy any of your hard earned money. You've been warned!!!
User's recommendation: Don't give this guy any of your hard earned money. You've been warned!!!
