I have been doing business with Nick since he was at Norwood in the 1980's, long before starting Modern Performance. I have overhauled at least 4 engines over the years using his expert services, 3 cars and a boat.
My 1971 MGB 2L conversion, built up in the early 90's, still runs like a champ and I drive it daily.
I highly recommend Modern Perf. for quality, speed and prices.

Over the past 20 years Nick has built some of the fastest performance street driven cars on the east coast( Half of the VIPER CLUB OF NJ has used him at one time or another including myself who for four years had one of the fastest NA Vipers in the country Viper guys dont just plunk down tens of thousands of dollars to someone who would have trouble with a 200 SX NISSAN Also In regards to the prior gentlemans post about spending 2000.00 for an engine rebuild something isnt KOSHER as you couldnt rebuild a motor of any kind for only 2000,00

I recently had an engine swap done in my 300ZX by a guy named Nick who owes Modern Performance Inc. He was recommended to me by someone in the industry whom I trusted.
...Well, the job got done, but it took this loser 4 months. In that time, he lied to me about the progress on the vehicle, failed to return my calls, and was generally shady to deal with. And when I got the car back it became apparent that many things were wrong with the work that had been done. Everything from shoddy welding, to vacuum lines running to nothing, to power steering lines that hadn't been clamped down.
So far it has cost me over $2,000.00 dollars in repairs to fix all the problems he caused. I haven't been able to drive the car since October 2009.
I would NOT recommend this business to anyone.

Ps Dom why would Nick rebuild an engine and have John DO THE INSTALL(if a problem happened was the install DONE properly).When Nick on does a job he wants to do the ENTIRE JOB -REMOVAL TO INSTALL .Its amazing people get on a forum and ALWAYS SEEM TO FORGET ,WITHHOLD ECT ECT VITAL INFORMATION.
PS in reference to my prior post where did you get the motor Nick swapped out for you (I GUARANTEE it was bought from some junkyard IN AS IS CONDITION )Nick is an engine rebuilder and is extremely hesitant to install any used motor in a car BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOUR GETTING .Why didnt you have him rebuild your blown engine (another wild guess -you didnt have the money and THOUGHT you could get away with some used piece of trash No one is more honest than Nick INTURN, show us all a copy of your invoice .Does it happen to say CUSTOMER PROVIDED MOTOR IN AS IS CONDITION .
Nick is THE BEST as he built me one of the fastest NA VIPERS in the country (Half the Viper Club of NJ has used him at one time or another) Some of these Viper motors cost over 50 grand and make well over 1000 hp LOL The guy with the Nissan Sentra or whatever it is DEFINATELY WITHHOLDING INFO HERE

Ask Nick about the Pontiac Bonneville he rebuilt the motor in for Johnny's Garage and what happened when his guy took it to Conte's car wash on Joline Ave.
