Scam company
They do not pay their outstanding bills to suppliers and contractors, are insolvent, does not deliver a worthy product and will hold onto clients' money.
Do not invest in them or work for them. You will be very sorry for doing so.

Delays and no product and price increases
I signed a contract with the company last year. Theyre incredibly challenging to get a hold of, they have my money, my project is stalled, permits are not issued and they want to increase pricing by a huge amount. They dont honor their pricing or the contract at all and feel it is ok to renegotiate at any time.

It is illegal to price gouge and ask for more money when a contract already exists. I hope you can take the time to report them to the Utah Division of Consumer protection as the more people that do so, the company will be investigated for fraud.
I, too, had a very bad experience with them and they left me with a house I can't use and won't honor the warranty. Please also look into legal representation, that is my next step.

Substandard product
I am writing this complaint to express my utmost disappointment with the quality of workmanship and the level of service that I received from Modal LLC of Utah. As a customer who purchased one of your tiny homes, I expected nothing but the best from your team, given your promise to provide high-quality, sustainable living spaces.
However, I regret to inform you that the quality of the tiny home I received is far from satisfactory.
There were several defects, including using substandard building materials one can find for the lowest price, yet the price the consumer pays for what they get is over-inflated; as a consumer, we expected to have the product made with the most precision with a crew that is detail-oriented.
Furthermore, your customer service has been appalling, with no regard for the inconvenience and stress that I have been facing.
As a company that claims to be a leader in the tiny home industry, I expected you to practice what you preach by providing good quality homes. Instead, I have received a substandard product that has not met my expectations and has been a major disappointment.
I am extremely dissatisfied with the quality of the work done by MODAL LLC, LIVE MODAL.

Issues from landing and beyond
They gave us nothing but a hard time after the house arrived and set on the foundation. Inferior communication, a lot of delays and lapse in communication, and refusal to fix construction issues with the home almost feels intentional to wear you down so you accept the defects, we will be seeking counsel if this drags on further. My advice is to look at their competitors as most companies offer a lifetime warranty on their homes and have better customer service, which will fix what is broken in a timely manner.
