Terrible

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

the warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on. They want you to use 40 grade oil because their work is so sloppy regular oil will seep right through. This pace should be shut down!

Terrible work, worthless warranty...

this place should be shut down...

read the "warranty" carefully. The reason they want you to use a much heavier rated oil than what the manufacturer recommends is because their work is so shoddy...

Terrible, Don't get an engine rebuild from them

Long story short, they don't honor warranty. They are rude and disrespectful. Mike Lambert will cuss over the phone.

Terrible work and they tell you to use a different oil than what the manufacturer recommends because the seals leak. If they do good work, why would they tell you to use a much heavier oil? Also, they don't warranty leaks that happen shortly after the rebuild-30 days. Should have seen that as a red flag. In fact, ask for a copy of the warranty BEFORE getting any work done. You will see a loophole in each part.

Look at all the other bad reviews on yelp also.

MJM, Never Again!

1989 toyota v-6 Total rebuild And Yep total rip off ! Anyway They can get out of honoring their warranty !

Basically should read the fine print it's not worth the paper it's printed on the customer is going to get screwed every time ! Even if you have them rebuild your motor completely they don't use factory parts and if you get a oil leak after 30 days that's not covered under their warranty ? They Had to replace the head gasket within 30 days of initial work . While driving out to get new shocks put on it to be finished with the truck that I thought was done in less than 3 miles from home boom coolant all over the windshield smoke everywhere .I called them from the freeway and was told they didn't have room for my truck. And not have it towed there ?

So I had it towed to another automotive repair mechanics look at it and said the motor shot and blown from Computer readout .so MJN engine calls me couple hours later and said they made room for my truck .And I can have it towed there up there on my own Dime .then they wouldn't move anything when the tow truck driver got there because they were on lunch break ! So we got to stand around for a while . Then manager Mike tells me not to expect him to get on the truck right away they get to it when they get to it ! I didn't tell them that didn't tell them that in other mechanics it said the engines blown .

10 days later my calls back says it's not the engine it's a radiator which by the way they did replace also .So now I get to go to court and try and recoup some of my money which is highly unlikely ! Maybe 6000 mile's into supposedly 36,000 mile warranty . BAR is trying but shouldn't trust this guy!

And his a friend of a friend . I should've read the fine print .

They Don't Honor the Warranty

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Long story short, had an engine rebuild done on my truck, was supposed to be for 36,000 miles. Also, it seemed shady that they told me to use 20 w 40 oil when the manufacturer recommends 10 30-probably because they didn't want me to see tons of leaking oil from their horrible job on the seals.

Head Gaskets went well before the warranty, towed the truck in expecting them to honor the warranty. They didn't. They were rude, condescending and disrespectful over the phone.

Don't trust these guys to fix your vehicle. All I can say is MJM, never again!

These guys are crooks!

MJM Engines Inc. Treated Me Bad

I paid $957.00 for a rebuilt 350 chevy LB about 7 months ago. I put everything brand new, carb, water/fuel pump, distributor, alternator, etc.

When it was time to start it up, it ran rough, and kept shutting off, we checked everything. I and my car builder called MJM but they didn't offer any help, just told us what we did wrong. I asked them if they could come down to figure problem out, they wouldn't, then said yes but would charge me $85 an Hr. plus fuel. I couldn't believe it, they were no help and took no responsibility, not even when a well known engine builder confirmed it was internal. They blamed my builder without ever checking problem.

I registered my car for big kustom car show at end of month, paid for hotel rooms and registration. Told them that, and that I just wanted there help, got nothing. Now I have to pay more money to fix a block that was supposed to work. I found out it was the cam, which is on them.

Camshaft break-in is 100% the Installers Responsibility.

All REAL Mechanics know this.

2200 - **** RPM for the first 30 Minutes.

Never use Multi Grade Oil for engine break-in or the cam goes flat.

Let it idle during cam break-in and the cam goes flat.

People that do not know what they are doing always blame the parts.

"they didn't offer any help, just told us what we did wrong."

Well,... share with the class, what did you do wrong?

"$85 an Hr. plus fuel. I couldn't believe it"

No kidding!! how rude!! you should have bought it at Napa. They would have sent a tech to your house to fix your mistakes for free.

"I found out it was the cam, which is on them."

I think I figured out what your mistake was!! If the the timing is off when you go to start the motor you can eat up a cam. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle!

Charged Me For a New motor that didnt work

Mjm engines in Escondido completely screwed up a basic chevy 350 engine. i sent them my truck, then they call me saying it was going to be a lot more money than originally discussed.

after i picked up my truck, i started it the next day and it wouldn't even get me to work. when i called them they said they were not responsible and that whatever the problem was it was not covered under their warranty. i started to check out the engine and found a spark plug cracked in half and the distributor was not tightened. and even with those problems fixed the truck still wouldn't run right.

all they would do was recommend an electrical shop to take my truck to get it fixed. they wouldn't even take a look at my truck, they just said it wasn't their fault.

take your vehicles anywhere else to be fixed. these guys don't know anything

I have MJM do Machine work for me and everything has been perfect.

As for the person complaining from what I read it is obvious that the problems are with the external parts not with the engine. No engine shop warrentys other peoples labor or parts put on the outside of the engine.

Guest

They did 4 engines for me they were great. Do not know the whole story but they have been awesome over the past 3 years

Just about to go there for engine work... NOT NOW!!!
