Do NOT use this Minorca Alterations under any circumstances, she is a scammer! A few months ago Minorca agreed to make 6 bridesmaid dresses for my sister in law from scratch, she measured us all and we paid the deposit.

When the dresses were provided back to us they were nothing similar to what had been asked for, they were a different fabric, different shade, different style and did not fit any of us at all. Upon visiting for a fitting, Minorca was very rude, I caught her eye and smiled at her while stood at the front desk but she blatantly ignored me, after about 5-10 minutes she finally acknowledged me and I tried on the dress, it was clearly far too long but when I mentioned the length to Minorca she told me to stand up straight and that I needed to have more elegant posture, I was standing as tall as I possibly could and it was still too long but feeling intimidated by her demeanour, I just left with the dress. When I showed my sister in law the dress she immediately noticed it was nothing like what we asked for. Upon closer inspection, we noticed that the dress was not handmade at all, it even had the tag on showing the style number which aligns with the SKU of the identical dress on ever pretty (see attached images), clearly a mass produced item.

We searched lilac bridesmaid dress into Google and it was one of the very first dresses to show up, absolutely identical, it can be found on both Shein and ever pretty for a very small fraction of the price she charged us. Minorca is now refusing to refund us our deposit even though she has all the dresses. We are £200 down and we have nothing.

Minorca is also playing the victim and calling us disrespectful for asking for a refund, I personally think its far more disrespectful to scam someone out of £200 and leave them with no bridesmaid dresses with the wedding just around the corner. Upon reading other reviews online, we are not the first people she has scammed, it appears she has stolen deposits and items of clothing that she has been given to alter from other customers and I am sure she will continue to do so in the future.

Loss:
$200
Cons:
  • Rude and intimidating demeanour
  • Agreed to make dresses from scratch but bought cheap alternatives
  • Refusing refund despite taking back the dresses

Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: Avoid at all costs!
