Kirby and Nick Kuklenski at Mile High Ace Hardware
What are you guys thinking? You let Front Range Installers market in your Colorado Springs and Denver stores! Have you even investigated their business operations? Do you realize that the marketers who market for FRI in your stores are called Independent Contractors, based on a very non-compliant agreement that violates Colorado and federal requirements/laws for legitimate IC classification? Together, the FRI agreement and their management violate almost all of the Colorado laws and IRS requirements for contractors. We are employees but not paid unemployment or any other benefits! No tax withholding either. Do you guys have any idea about what you are doing? By enabling FRIs illegal business practices in your stores, you are supporting an operation that tarnishes your brand and stores. BTW, FRI owes me money and they are refusing to pay. I strongly encourage consumers to avoid Mile High Ace Hardware and Garden in Denver (near 104th and Federal), Uintah Gardens Ace hardware and Hancock Plaza Ace hardware, both in Colorado Springs. I guess it's all about the money the Kuklenski brothers make by having FRI market in their stores?

Mile High Ace Hardware And Garden
It’s been a few weeks and I decided to update this post. First, Front range installers finally paid me what they owed, over $200.00.
That was mostly due to the BBB complaint I filed against them.
But Mile High Ace hardware is another story! I notified the Ace corporate office about the issues with FRI and they filed an incident report several weeks ago. I heard nothing after a week so I sent a brief follow-up message asking about the Incident report process.
I’ve received no further response from anyone at Ace.
The Incident report was apparently sent to the District Manager of the Mile High Ace Hardware store, Barney Onken, and owned by the Kuklenski brothers. I can’t help but feel like FRIs non-compliance with state and federal laws for classification of independent contractors is being used to skirt unemployment and tax laws.
It also seems like these violations are being ignored by managers and owners at Ace Hardware stores. If you care about workers being treated fairly, do not support the Ace stores in Colorado Springs or Denver (listed above), owned by Kirby and Nick Kuklenski!
