Business represented themself as NADCA certified to clean vents and ducts but they are not. They simply "shop vac" the vents instead of using a compressed air machine to drive the dust and debris down to the main lines as one of the two methods needed to do the job properly. A "shop vac" is not an approved method to be used per NADCA and is completely ineffective. Then something was done incorrectly to the system once they completed the job & we had no heat (airflow) on our 2nd floor for three days over a holiday weekend in the winter. When a different tech came to the house to address another problem, he stated we had mold in our unit & he would treat it for a discounted rate of $300 more than what we had already spent - discounted due to all we'd been thru. When he spoke with previous team and asked why they didn't advise us of the mold, they stated to him "they didn't have any more money to spend so we just didn't say anything about the mold." With red flags going off at this point, we then had 2 other companies come to our home immediately the next day and they both confirmed we do not have mold, but instead it was simply calcium deposits and rust in said area. This same tech also established that the previous team of techs completely missed cleaning 1 of 3 main lines which was crucial in the process. Needless to say our trust in this company was tarnished and we were not about to allow them back into our home. We instead paid a NADCA certified company to completely redo the entire vent & duct system in our home. They found pieces of wood and a plastic ice cream spoon still in one of the vents, and videoed the main lines being cleaned that showed way too much dirt and debris on the footage considering they had just been cleaned a week before by MHS... Since then I've filed a complaint with BBB requesting a refund of our money only to still be receiving unprofessional replies from their "Customer Service Specialist" since 1/2011 that entail calling us liars and essentially have resulted in a *** match with us instead of trying to rebuild a good image for themself despite our dispute with them; when the only proper "customer service" reply would've been, "We apologize for the frustration and inconvenience we've caused you, and while we would like the opportunity to resolve the matter by redoing the cleaning properly to retain the revenue for our company, we understand we've lost your trust. Therefore in good faith will refund your money."........... I've worked in customer service for a few different industries over the last 2 decades and THAT is the appropriate response when such significant evidence has been presented against the company. I've seen far less occur, not even valid complaints submitted by customers, with refunds and a sincere apology issued to the extent that I actually disagreed with the company I worked for in having done so! As of 2/21 Mr. Schweitzer still hasn't followed up from his last reply thru BBB establishing in his own words "he couldn't understand why we were able to write a review already since he had not made a final decision" during which time he had already received the "evidence" he requested from us within that last 24 hour period, in order for him to resolve the matter. This evidence entailed a formal document from one of the companies we consulted with regarding the mold, stating there was clearly no mold where his tech said there was. Also, provided was the report of their findings of debris and dirt still in our vents during them having to redo the entire cleaning for us (we also have a video they made of the cleaning supporting this with live footage of it all). And lastly, the receipt proving we paid the other company to come redo the entire cleaning. Furthermore, BBB has since closed our complaint without a resolution or any closure being provided at all. You will notice that BBB did this to another customer as well, where they choose on their own to "administratively close" the complaint despite the customer receiving no justice on the matter. Thus, we strongly recommend you do NOT use this company or you will have wasted your money for a service you can clearly half-$*% yourself with a shop vac and renting a negative air machine!
