Augusta, GA 30909, Tel No: 706-736-****; regarding a property I purchased at 142 Claridge Street, North Augusta, South Carolina, 29860. My name is Dr. Rhonda Jackson, and I bought this home, believing that I had made a sound investment. I thought that everything that needed to be disclosed about this property had been, but after moving into this house, it was discovered by Code Enforcement and some Engineer Landscapers that the side of the house floods and that it requires a French Drain. Also, the garage door does not operate and is broken. As you can imagine, I was shocked that the home had defects that the sellers and brokers had to have known, but it was not noted on the legal disclosure papers. I know because I am Black that I am Black the Realtors decided to sell me a flooded home. I have taped proof that the Real Estate Agent-Ms. Sarah Buehnlein, the seller, and BrokerGray Meybohm knew the home flooded. According to Georgia Real Estate laws, agents are supposed to disclose any defects or malfunctions a home has before it is sold to the buyer. I always thought that Meybohm Real Estate was a reputable, prestigious, honorable, and distinctive company. Everybody brags about Venus Morris Griffin so much that we would never think her agents could be dishonest. When confronted, the Real Estate Agent, Ms. Sarah Boehnlein admitted on a taped conversation that the Owner and herself knew of the problem but put mulch around the home to cover up the flooding. However, the Engineer Landscapers attested that the mulch erodes property and causes property damage. I had several professionals appraise and estimate the situation. I was informed that it would cost between $5,000 and $6,000 to install a French Drain and the garage door fixed. I want to know when I will be getting the money to have this fixed. The drain should have been either corrected before the home went on the market or fully disclosed that without a French Drain, the home would flood, and the garage door was broken. If I had known of these defects previously, I would have never brought this house. The defendants decreed that they installed mulch around the house. All the mulch around the home has caused the erosion of the foundation and infestation of frogs, and lizards. Honestly, I would like to settle this matter without any formal legality adjudication or social and local media attention; I know that company would not be successful if dishonesty and duping clients were in the company’s norms and values. Sincerely yours, Dr. Rhonda L. Jackson Ph.D.".

MILITARY FAMILIES BEWARE
Whatever you do, DO NOT Rent a property from Meybohm.. especially if you are a military family!!
Since day 1 we have been treated with prejudice & spoken to as if we are less than either because we are renters or because we are military. Requests for repairs are rarely, if ever, taken care of. Calls & emails aren’t returned. Customer service does not exist.
The property owner has shown up at our door unannounced, despite the lease stating we’re due 24 hours notice. Anytime we complain about something not working, we’re punished by having a sudden inspection in which they send a 19 year old kid to take photos of my children’s bedrooms. *** right?
Please, save yourself the trouble & find another company. These people won’t respect you for a second & don’t deserve your money or patronage.
Lack of professional and ethics
First, I couldn't get ahold of anyone on the phone, so I tried to set up an appointment to meet with an agent to view an apartment to possibly rent on their website. I made my first appointment on the website. On the day of appointment, no one showed up. I called 3 times and finally got ahold of an actual person. They said that the website is a new system and there was no record of my appointment. They said to try again using self view appointment. I did that and set up an appointment to view that apartment to visit by myself.
On the day of my appointment, the system texted me the code to get into the vacant apartment. Access was denied, 3 times. I tried to call the phone number given from the text if there was any issues. I called 8 times and no one answered the phone. The next day, I finally spoke to a human being and told them we will just go ahead and apply for the apartment and they said ok.
The next day, Meybohm emailed me the application and we filled it out and paid the application fee (which is nonrefundable). After 2 days of waiting, I called and was informed they already rented out the apartment 3 days ago, in the morning. I said that's ok, just refund us our application fee since you rented it prior to even sending me the emailed application. They refused and said they will not give me a refund because it was my fault I took to long to apply.
I don't know about Meybohm's other departments, but Meybohm Property Management are a bunch of crooks who have no sense of professionalism and a lack of caring of the customer or even a potential customer. Beware and use at your own risk.
Background checks
I know someone that works in property management. They should definetly do background checks on employees.
Worst Property Managage
AWFUL property management. My rent was increased $25 over the summer and I was not made aware that I had to adjust my automated rent payment myself.
So instead of notifying me that my rent was $25 short and I had an overdue balance, they waited over FIVE MONTHS and charged me over $200 in fees before notifying me! Three angry phone calls later, they refused to rectify the situation.
Meybohm property management needs more help!
Meybohm, Augusta GA is an absolute nightmare when requesting maintenance... I have had a water leak for more than 48 hours...no response from the management company!
I was lucky that I could turn off the water!
This is NOT the first time this has happened! I have to literally hound them to get any kind of response! There is zero excuse for this.
last time I was told they had to wait to contact the owner to approve. UMM k THAT I understand but it is still YOUR responsibility to follow up with me and let me know YOU are working on the issue NOT ignore me. NO one ever answers the phone....I called ALL three numbers!
I am now trapped with these bastiges for another 6 months!
DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE THAT I HAVE! GET SOME HELP OR GET OUT OF THE PROPERTY MGMNT BUSINESS!
