  • - Jan 23, 2023: Parkaire Plaza to Kennestone by EMTs.
  • - EMTs laughed during care.
  • - IV attempts three times; failed.
  • - Seek counsel; refuse $1,700 ER ride.

Jane 23, 2023 taken by inferior EMT and maybe one paramedic to Kennestone from

Parkaire plaza.

Laughing and joking with each other, they tried to get IV in arm 3 times non took and EMT was not wearing gloves while trying to administer it, I asked to put them in and he just La ghee it off. Another EMT suggested he put them on as code requires them to do so. Complete failure and I will be seeking counsel and refuse to pay $1,700 charge for ride to ER.

User's recommendation: Take Uber if necessary n life threatening

Very rude driver #07460

AI Highlights
  • - Ambulance passenger yelled at me to move from a parking spot.
  • - The woman apologized after the checks.
  • - The driver was rude and said if you don't like it, call in on us.

Sitting in a parking spot at ball field. Passenger of ambulance yelled at me to move ...

I wasnt in the way at all. After they checked out everything the lady that yelled apologize after I told her there was no reason of her doing that. Then this man the driver got an attitude and said if you dont like it call in on us.

Really how rude , all I can say thank god I wont have to see him again ( because I dont live here , next time I wont be so nice he is a jerk! If you dont like your job go get another job , as rude as he was scraping *** at a zoo would be good for him!!

Preferred solution: I don’t want a apology just want you to know how he acts, talks so maybe if you bring it to his attention he will be more polite to others ( if he can). He tried to tallk to me like I was a child ... Really , I just hope other drivers are more trained.

Billing Service is Terrible

AI Highlights
  • - Received a collection letter after failed contact.
  • - Another letter showed an incorrect billing amount.
  • - I called to resolve it and hope KP will settle.

I received a letter saying they were going to turn my account over to a collection agency because they tried multiple times to reach me with no success. In fact, I received one other letter with an incorrect billing amount.

I called them immediately and there were going to correct it.

I am a Kaiser Permanente member and Metro Atlanta Ambulance says I am not! Hopefully my call to KP will settle the issue.

In September 2017, Metro transported my 79 year old father from WellStar Paulding to his home... well, at least on the second trip.

First time drove him up to a house that wasn't even his.

Driven miles out of the way... wrong direction.

MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service Complaint Marietta GA dismissed by DPH despite Evidence

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Complaint against MAAS; owner is council chairman; letters changed after I recorded MAAS; DPH didn’t validate protocol violations or PCR data.

This is what happens if you file a complaint against MAAS......The owner is Council chairman for the region where you file a complaint with Ga Dept Public Health. Notice the 2 different letters......it was changed when I said I recorded the meeting with MAAS. DPH failed to validate that failure to follow protocol is against O.C.G.A Code and Dept rule...not to mention falisifying information on the patient care report also violates PCR Data Standard and GA law. Below is where to find my blog and petition.

It's not healthcare....it's Wall Street

AI Highlights
  • - 911 responders failed to assess or treat respiratory distress.
  • - No oxygen, IV, or ECG initially; IO used after 3 IV attempts.

Pray that when you call 911 you actually get a crew who will properly assess and treat you. I called 911 when my brother was having trouble breathing. Little did I know at the time that he would take his breath that night. Upon arrival both fire rescue and Metro knew he wasn't ambulatory and had not been due to gout flare. Despite this they repeatedly told him to get up and walk himself to the stair chair when he wasn't physically able to while at the same telling him to slow down his breathing like he could actually control it. All of his presenting symptoms indicated Respiratory Distress.

They ignored the seriousness of his condition and refused to assist him. I had to yell at them (after 23 min of just standing there) before they finally attempted to help him. As they were about to lift him up he postured.....he never regain consciousness after this..I will never forget the look on his face just moments before. No treatment, no oxygen, no IV, no EKG until after he was finally placed on cardiac monitor.

He was going into cardiac arrest. First attempt at intubation failed due to his trachea deviated excessively left. 3 failed IV attempts because by then his extremities had clamped down......IO was only option. O2 placed on him DURING 3rd failed IV attempt. The first EKG they supposedly did never existed and the one they did do after was normal according to PCR.........it was far from normal...they tried to cover their backsides.

They were on scene for almost an hour including the time they spent in my driveway working on him. I was unaware he had gone into cardiac arrest until I went outside 15-20 after they brought him outside to find that they were still there. All 4 of them were in the back of Metro's rig. Why wasn't one of them driving and already on the way to the hospital.....One of fire rescue rode en route to hospital,

I was disturbed by all the ommited and incorrect (dare I say FALSE) info on the Patient care report. I wanted answers. It took filing a complaint with Dept Public Health before MAAS contacted me. Both Medical Director and VP expressed concerns over documentation and said they "counseled" who filled out the PCR vigorously. It was more than documentation I was concerned about. THERE WAS A COMPLETE LACK OF ASSESSMENT, CARE, AND TREATMENT.

They said they would reinterview both medics and agreed to a followup. Never heard from them again. DPH determined that while MAAS medical director determined his protocols were not adhered to and took corrective action on his employee that the dept found none of their rules had been violated. Yes they were...section 290-**-**. I tried to get in touch with the Deputy Director to find out how they came up with that decision....no response.

It clearly seems to me that given the other similar complaints against MAAS emt's that there is a problem with the leadership and how these medics are trained. Don't prejudge any situation. Every patient deserves the same level of assessment and treatment regardless of if their house is dirty or the individual is not exactly clean.

Ask yourself this. How would you respond to a call if it was your mother...father..brother...sister....child. Wouldn't you want them to have the best care possible. What would you do if you called 911 and they didn't get a proper assessment, care, or treatment. You would be angry right!?
