13/5/2023 the M56 was closed. got shunted off and diversion signs were pathetic.

Ended up going over Mersey Gateway bridge as we missed signs and as I was towing a caravan couldn't make quick manoeuvres to avoid it. Never used the bridge before, didn't intend to use it then and will never use it again. Tried twice to pay on Internet within 24 hrs, (no APP as I had no intentions of using the bridge), and it seemed to accept my payment, but it was not taken from my account. Received a Penalty Charge Notice on 02/06/2023.

A bizarre communication designed to confuse any one without a BA in form design. No possible way to contact by 'phone, probably because they do not want to talk to any one as they would end up being verbally abused. This toll is a total rip off and has probably been raking it in whilst M56 has closures. The only 'phone number gives a menu of how to pay the penalty charge and suggests visiting the website.

If it didn't accept my initial payment of the toll, how can I be confident it will accept my penalty charge payment?

They seem to expect that every one is tech savvy with all the apps, but we aren't all 30 somethings glued to a smart 'phone, some of us are 77 year olds without smart 'phones! I guess that after 65 we don't matter anymore.

On 7th June I went over the new Runcorn bridge and immediately paid for the private bridge crossing . Today Iv received a fixed penalty notice off them asking for £40 ?!

That day I sold my car and have no idea whom the dealer sold it on to.. I attempted to explain that this date of 13th of June bridge crossing was not me . They insisted I got in touch with Dvla and Id need to show them proof it wasnt me ?!OMG what a dilema so because they hadnt done their home Work and contacted the new owner then I have to pick up the pieces and turn detective?! I dont think so.

I paid this rip off charge once and thats enough! Get your house in order Merseyflow and may be her your customer service staff a course on fairness and customer empathy?!
