Merrill House Apartments in Falls Church, VA

After AIMCO raised the rent $300.00 per month on their old, outdated apartments in Merrill House apartments in Falls Church, VA I decided to move out. I found out that they keep your security deposit. Other tenants told me that they charge you for carpet cleaning and if your unit doesn't have carpet, then they charge you a cleaning fee, even though you leave the place immaculate. The workers in the office that work for AIMCO are dishonest and make up charges and if you don't pay them, they turn you over to a collection agency. The office staff are incompetent liars. They can't even tell you what the charges are for, and neither can the main office at AIMCO. They ruin your credit after bleeding you dry for unfair charges. IF you go out of your lease, they charge you an additional $300.00 fee. If that isn't enough, they continue to charge you for rent that you don't owe without any explanation or proof. Emlly Columbia works in the office of Merrill House Apartments and she is a liar, and a thief. Do NOT trust anyone in this place and get everything in writing and signed by them. Put it in a safe place for later legal action against these bullies.
