Verified ReviewerHad me drive hour and half to do a bait & switch
- Bait-and-switch on a Tesla Model X.
- I was told I spoke to Grace, which wasn't true.
- They drove me 1.5 hours and the cars offered didn't match the specs.
Stay far away from this dealership. The gave me the old fashioned bait and switch.
I talked with them for 2 days about a Tesla Model X.
Come to find out I was talking to automation and AI. The model x was no where in sight for starters.
I asked multiple times about this car over 2 days. They had me drive hour and half in traffic. When I arrived they asked who did I speak to and I told them Grace.
Needless to say its no Grace in the building at all and things just started piling on after that.
They tried to offer me 3 other cars that were no where near the specs of what I wanted from the car online.
Apollo was trying his hardest to give me any option car I could for me to get back happy. Even though he didnt set up the appointment they ALL KNOW they are doing shady business and doing bait and switch practices.
I will be looking towards suing over this as they wasted my entire day.
I recorded everything so if anyone wants the videos and screen shots to confirm my experience feel free to reach out but I promise this is not the place you want to do business with they are extremely scammy
- Over 4 hours of my day wasted with them
Preferred solution: The car with the specs they had on the website for the price
User's recommendation: Stay away they are all liars

To tell ppl not to buy here
- Website photos look great, but the business is a scam and promises aren’t kept.
- They name GM Walter and a Bentley, and say they will rip you off.
Website photos of cars look great but thats it these clowns are definitely running a circus they should not be allowed to be in business. This place is full of scam artist starting with the GM Walter hes the sloppy fat guy that sits in the back.
He also like to parade around in a old *** Bentley that aint his.
But ultimately they will rip you off and Im so disappointed in my self for using them. There promises arent kept.

Ripped off
- Bought late Oct; issues from day 5: fuse box moisture, battery needed, brakes not installed; back window motor stops; repair could be $1500.
Brought a car in late October and had problems from day 5 of me having the car I've only driven the car about 5 times then the car stop turning over (starting) took car to a Mercedes dealership to find out the fuse box was water moist which in turn had to be replaced because the car wouldn't start the car needed a battery and i was told I need brakes soon! but when I bought the car it was suppose to have new brakes put on because it showed up on the inspection sheet obviously the brakes was never put on the motor in the back window stop working and now I'm being told that wear and tear but I've driven the car a total of 5 times not to get the car fixed it's going to cost me 1500 dollars after I just spent 950 to get something called nitro bottles fixed never purchase a car from merlex or global auto outlet
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: Never purchase a car from merlex or global auto outlet on glebe rd V.A or Global outlet on st barnabas rd temple hills md
They were utterly clueless and rude and lying
- Staff gave conflicting updates on car availability.
- No one was courteous or knew the inventory.
- A $5,000 fee was cited and selling status varied.
I was interested in a specific car. One person told me it was available.
Then another told me it was getting inspected. Then when I called again, he wasn't sure if the car was sold or not. Then later the same day the person said it was getting inspected and they'd reach out Monday. I had to reach out to them.
No answer. Then I was told the car needed too much work and wasn't going to be sold. Based on getting 5 different stories before, I called and asked to speak to a sales manager. The manager then said it was unavailable.
Then said it needed too much work. Then said Corporate decides if it goes out on the lot or not. Then said it was going overseas. Then said it sold and I missed out.
Then said it needed too much work again. Then said they just flat out wouldn't sell to me and even if, their fees were $5,000.00 in addition to the sales price and applicable taxes.
Overall, NO ONE had a clue what was going on with the car. I spoke with 4 different people. NO ONE was courteous or knew their inventory or even tried to act like they did.
They were constantly confused on which car. Then just flat out lied and told me they wouldn't even sell me the car in the end.
And $5,000.00 in fees is ridiculous and unheard of!... If that's even true based on the rest of the lies and confusion I was told.
User's recommendation: dont even bother
False Advertising Availability of Vehicles
- Advertised car wasn't actually available.
- We called ahead and drove an hour, only to be told it was gone.
Advertised a car that they did not really have. We called one hour ahead to make sure that the vehicle advertised in the photo was still available.
Made an appt.
and drove an hour to look at the car. When we arrived they told us that this particular car was no longer available.
User's recommendation: Carefully read reviews before going to Merlex Group in Arlington.
Completely unhappy
- Trying to obtain PA plate and registration has been frustrating.
- We were lied to and can't drive the $45,000 car due to no registration.
I have had nothing but issues trying to get my PA plate and registration!! They are rude, give the run around and dont care after the sale! We have been lied to and cant drive the car we paid $45,000 for because we dont have a valid registration!
- All
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered
User's recommendation: Don’t go here!!
False Advertisement
They advertise cars at unbelievable prices, which they then say are "sold" or was printed by "error". Once they speak with you, they try to upsell you on a similar vehicle, with a huge price tag!!
User's recommendation: Buyer Beware!!
Fake advertising
- They post false pricing to lure you in.
- They upcharge the price by thousands.
- I would never buy from them or recommend; shysters.
They lie! They post false pricing to lure you in and then try and up the price by thousands.
They stated the pricing on the website was in error. They give you the fun around.
I would never buy from them or recommend. Shysters!
Preferred solution: Price reduction
User's recommendation: Stay away, dont waste your time
Stay Away
- Bought a luxury vehicle at top price.
- Inspection failed; dealer would not pay repairs.
- Over $1,300 in repairs; AG investigation for fraud.
Purchase a luxury vehicle which I paid top price for. Went to get it inspected and it failed.
Merlex Auto would not pay for any repairs.
Cost me over $1,300 in repairs not to mention high at note. Recommended full investigation be done by States Attorney General on fraudulent practices to the public
DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP!
- They sell cars with major repairs without informing you.
- Get a full inspection and proper test drive.
- Put promises in writing; they may not keep them.
They will sell you a car with major repairs without informing you, before you purchase a car, take it on a test drive not their test drive around a few blocks. You might want to have the car fully inspected, make sure you pay attention to the details, they do a bad paint job by touching up chips, deep marks which are removed upon washing your car.
The dealership staff posts reviews with 5 stars to portray themselves as customers, never trust verbally promises, get it in writing for your protection. They will go back on their word.
They have the biggest hustle by acting if you are important until you sign on the dotted line, they will not answer your calls, if your car having problems especially the General Manager.
PLEASE DON’T BELIEVE THAT THEY WILL OFFER YOU A 30, 60, 90 days WARRANTY, THEY WILL NOT FIX YOUR CAR. This placed should be under investigation for fraud on all their purchases and transactions.
- Nice cars
- Need some type of repairs
Preferred solution: REPAIR & PAINT MY CAR
DO NOT EVER BUY A CAR FROM THIS PLACE
- We paid cash for a Range Rover with a transmission that didn't work.
- They knew it was not working and won't fix it; they will use your warranty without permission.
If I could give a zero I would.
I read as patient *** I could be with the folks. As mentioned before they sell you a vehicle known to not be working.
Frank.. well there's a reason he's not in charge.
Walter is the nice guy but he has to pass the buck to "upper management"
Sid is very nice... which is the only good part of this company.
We paid cash for a Range Rover we found out they had full knowledge of the transmission not working.
Unfortunately we didn't see reviews before or purchase but unlike others this won't end well because we will have people there making sure others don't buy.
My friend at channel 4,5,7 and 9 will be out to visit.
Every single place possible will know not to buy from these guys.
All they had to do was resolve the issue. They chose to not do so. That will be their issue. Not ours.
Also beware.. they will use your warranty without your permission to fix a car that should have been in working order.
We will increase our social media and after other ways to make sure no one else is affected until they decide they will no longer do this to others.
Yes.. we are contacting everyone to file a class action suit.
Preferred solution: Full refund
Merlex Auto Dealers
- The dealer may be another Eastern-owned company.
- They offer far less for trade-ins.
- Customers are kept waiting for hours; there are many complaints.
Beware! I think this dealership may be another Eastern owned company.
They will offer far less for trading in your car. Think Eastern when you think Merlex in Arlington, VA. I caution all those who are interested in their automobiles. They offer lower prices, but buyer beware regarding their cars and what they offer for trade ins.
They keep their customers or potential buyers for hours at a time without any consideration.
Salesman are not knowledgeable about the terms, conditions or various aspects of the cars they sell. I have heard so many complaints from other people about Eastern Motors that I would never even consider buying from this dealership.
- Very disappointed with merlex too similar to eastern
Preferred solution: Straighten up your act and stop your greed and misleading of customers.
