AI Highlights
  • - Mercury advertises two Best Western Rewards visa cards.
  • - A promo code is required to apply; they refuse to provide one despite an 800+ score.

1) Mercury advertises two types of visa cards linked to Best Western Rewards.

2) Mercury requires a promo code in order to apply.

3) Even though my credit score is always over 800, they refuse to give me a code. Ive called several times over the last couple of years and each time they say the back office decides who gets a code. And, they wont connect me to anyone in the back office.

4) Basically, since they advertise the cards but refuse applications, they are guilty of false advertising.

*** , poor customer service

AI Highlights
  • - Paid every Friday from the same bank account for 9 months, leaving an employee stranded without credit.
  • - It posts in 7–10 days and offers no resolution.

Payment in full has been made every Friday via the same specific Bank account as card was used for business purposes only. Have had this card and same payment method over 9 months , now even though payment was made and bank statement confirms payment was made, no credit was available leaving an employee stranded as he has been unable to fuel.

After numerous telephone numbers that all route you to an automated menu I was finally able to reach someone only to be told payments can last between 7-10 days to be applied. I advised them same payment method was used and in 9 months never had an issue. he confirmed payment was made in full however offered no help at all to resolve the issue, management was even less sincere and willing to help.

Will be cancelling this card once it finally updates to show full credit available. Terrible Customer service from top to bottom, Do yourself a favor and stay away from this company..

Predatory interest rates.

AI Highlights
  • - Wade Fraser from Bowdoinham, ME is a cardholder with a 30% rate.
  • - He requests a 10% rate per Trump's call and threatens default if not accommodated.
Updated by user Feb 28, 2026

Too high of interest rates to ever use this company. Highway robbery of the American citizen.

They don’t mind keeping us American citizens in poverty with their outrageous interest rates. There slogan is “helping underserved communities “ but that’s all a facade and a lie they aren’t helping underserved communities they’re are robbing them and keeping the underserved. Helping would be a 0% interest rate.

They’re getting rich off our backs. Enough is enough.

My names Wade Fraser. Im from Bowdoinham Maine Im a cardholder with your company.

My credit card interest rate is 30%, your a ripoff company, Donald trump let out a statement asking credit companies to lower interest down to 10% to show support for the American people during this hard time.
Do you not care about hard working Americans and how theyre suffering or are you just a snake company that likes predatory practices and ripping off your neighbors.
I am requesting an interest rate change that aligns more with our presidents vision for our country. If you cant accommodate my request and show appreciation for the hardworking Americans youre ripping off then I will be defaulting on my credit card debt and telling every card I know to do the same until you change your outrageous 30% interest.
What makes you think you deserve 30% interest. Huh?

Nothing. Cause your company is a joke.
Pros:
  • High credit limit
Cons:
  • Predatory interest rates

Preferred solution: Lower interest rates like our president Donald trump has asked companies to do.

User's recommendation: Lower interest rates like our president has asked to better align with the America first policy and to help your neighbors and families succeed instead of robbing them with a 30% interest. There’s a special place in *** for companies ripping off hard working Americans, they could easily have a 15% interest rate and still be a profitable company. But they want to squeeze the American consumer for every penny they have. Shows their true morals and values and shows they don’t mind sticking it to hard working families just trying to survive. Horrible not resolved. Charging meds fee with zero balance and won’t let me close without paying a fee.

Original review Jan 30, 2026

I am fed up with this company. I had no balance on my card.

I went through bankruptcy and did not select cards with fees. My card had a plus spending balance of over 6400. They had an unknown fee charge. I kept it open to raise my financial score.

I have emailed the CEO, Mr. Peterson, about this matter.

Preferred solution: Fee removed and close my account.

User's recommendation: Do not ever get this card.

ON April 20, 2024 at 2:33 am I received a text alert from credit card company alerting me to fraudulent charges posted to my account and I replied back that yes, it is fraud since i am in missisisppi and not in Los Angeles, CA. I was sent a email alert from the credit card company asking me to call the fraud number which I did and we went over the process for fraudulent charges, and the reversal of charges, etc.

The charges were from a "CTG Center THeater Group" in Los Angeles, CA (I have never been to California) and have "NO" desire to go there. I have filed a complaint with FTC, BBB and other entities and whoever is doing that, should be apprehended and put in prison for a looong time...There were five charges/transactions totaling $1959.60 all made at the same time, at the same place at 2:33 am (I was in bed) at that time.

Loss:
$1959

User's recommendation: Watch your credit cards and other personal info, cause there are theives and scammers every where
