Issue with Account
Account limited out of nowhere, I logically reach out to customer service to rectify the situation & get my account back into functioning order. Customer service doesn't exist.
I receive the same messages over & over & over with no actual resolution. All of their options on their phone line are defunct besides one. My case wasn't escalated until I called their phone line & found out how to reach a person after being told it was escalated two times previously a week earlier. I finally get a response on an earlier ticket.
Its a copy and paste of my warning message.
I am never told what I did besides prohibited conduct which could also mean every single thing you could ever do wrong. I'm pretty sure the entire app is being run by two monkeys behind a computer.

Credit to my account.
After an infuriating back-and-forth with a second customer service representative completely void of common sense and courtesy, which culminated in her ceasing to respond to my messages, a third gentleman chimed in. He apologized and said he understood my frustration and the hole isn't visible in any of the pictures, and informed me that my account had been credited.
So, I mean... yeah, that's cool and all. That also should've been the initial response. Before I contacted my bank who was going to investigate, and already reimbursed me.
That might be my best advice, actually. Especially if you don't have the fighting spirit that I do… use a card with a bank that will rectify things if they wont.
I tried calling the two numbers that I've seen… the 7482 number said that my call could not be completed at this time and the 2168 number does not have live support in my area, which I tried for a number of the menu options just to be sure it wasn't exclusively returns with that issue.
So I reported having an issue and uploaded photos to show that there was *** or a bite, or ::something::, missing from the heel of the sneaker. I was told that my photos of the item aligned with the seller who had fulfilled her obligation by sending the item, and suggested if I was dissatisfied that I should sell the item... I kept trying to point out that the item was not as described because there was no mention of *** or image where *** is visible, and I still haven't gotten anywhere She kept saying that the item could not be returned unless it was not as described and for some reason that wasn't enough of a discrepancy.

User's recommendation: I'm not even sure I kept asking for the name of our supervisor, which they haven't. According to this individual, it's the responsibility of the buyer to think of the worst case scenario and reach out to the seller and rule out the possibility of anything being wrong with the item...

Received broken merchandise. Asked for a return refund.
Have 55 messages, they denied it, said I waited too long (next day).
Filed a contest with Visa. They locked my account, I dropped the Visa issue, sent a copy, but they still won't open my account for use or give me the $400 earned.

I was trying to buy two items from a seller out of my shopping cart. It ended up purchasing everything from my shopping cart from different sellers.

I had an account with Mercari and sales were great! Then, suddenly, one day my account was limited.
They said it was for 'prohibited conduct,' but didn't tell me what the prohibited conduct was and I didn't have any idea. I wasn't selling anything dangerous; my prices were more than fair, and I wasn't breaking any other rules. Anyhow, with a limited account, I cannot request payout. Mercari owes me $1,441.09.
I have mailed them two letters asking them to pay me and have written to them in the app many times. All I've gotten is an email saying they've looped in their payments and billing department.
It has been two weeks already and there hasn't been any other response. I don't know what else to do; I want my money!

I purchased a pair of Valentino Flats, Item ID# m146*****. I contacted the seller prior to purchasing and was told they were hardly worn, however when I received the shoes, the logo on the left shoe was completely detached.
I contacted their chat representatives three times and was told that if I wanted to speak to someone, I would have to pay a refundable $1.00 charge, however when I went to pay, it was charging me $47.00 the first two time and $39.00 the third time I tried. THIS IS TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ABSOLUTLY RIDICULOUS!!!

Id like to keep the shoes, but would like a partial refund in order to pay to have them repaired.
Ive asked Mercari to respond as to my best course of action, or I will leave a negative review for the seller, and Mercaris terrible customer service practices.
YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY TO GET CUSTOMER SUPPORT, ESPECIALLY SINCE IM THE ONE HAVING TO PAY FOR SERVICE FEES FOR LISTING ITEMS!!!

I have loved Mercari for years. This last issue was one simple dress ordered.
It was received in a timely manner, but the post office marked it as delivered when actually, I only received a postage due sticker of $30.80. I refused the order. It was accidental shipping on the seller's end. The seller was very apologetic.
The package was shipped back to her. Mercari seems incompetent in reading very detailed messages and refunding me the $7.50 for the item, plus fees. Like, how hard is it? It's been several weeks now.
Just refund and close the case. Gracious.

The seller sent me the wrong trackball mouse. It was shipped from Santa Rosa, California. The mouse he sent me is nothing like any of the photos shown for purchase.

I bought something for my child and the app sent me a message that my purchase was received on 9/20, but I received another message from the app stating that it arrived on the 17th but I never received the package. I'm trying to reach the company to find a solution but they never respond.
They expected a rating so that the seller could get the money, but I can't rate something I never received. I need a refund and I'm trying to reach them but they are not responding to me.

I was trying to sell a coat using Mercari. As soon as I posted the item, someone offered to buy it through Mercari, but their payment kept getting declined.
I was under the impression that I did not have a cash balance to make the transaction happen.
Later, I received an email informing me that I needed to set up an Apple Pay Cash app or use Zelle with a balance of $250, or else the sale would not be made. I received numerous text messages.

I never received my item. The box was empty when it arrived, and it was sent out on the 16th.
I can't talk to the merchant and they said they had sent it out. I have cameras in my house that show that the box was empty when I received it.
