Overcharging on water bill and poor customer service.

I moved from my house in January and spend a few nights a month to do yard work. I cut the water off when I leave and turn it on when I stay there. The person that MLGW pays to read meters found it inconvenient to read the meter so it was estimated each month. I have spent 6 hours trying get this problem corrected. I have sent three emails and talked to four customer representatives. No one has enough concern to correct the problem. They continue to say, for over 60 days, they are working on the problem. The fact is MLGW is a monopoly so they don't care.

Horrible Customer Service

Every Saturday in March and April 2020. I enjoy lunch at Applebee's. Well the past two months management have cut the staff. There is just two servers, whose duties includes waiting table, serving and being bartender. I was told there was only one cook. To make the situation worse I am told each time there is a 45 minutes to hour wait to get seated due to shortage of employees. I witnessed three family just leave to include myself. Well I can definitely say I will never return to the west memphis location.

What does a suds and fun joint have to do with Memphis Power? If you're obtuse to the point where you can't tell the difference, your opinion or presence does not matter.

Memphis Light Gas and Water - Customer Care Review from New South Memphis, Tennessee

MLGW hit my credit rating, too. It is the only delinquency I have. When I moved out of an apartment many years back, they failed to honor my request to turn services back over the to the landlord. This is on top of them not turning on services when I first moved in for over a week because the previous tennant had failed to pay. I am still fighting to have this delinquency removed and it has been 2 years. Luckily, my financiers were understanding and I was able to purchase a house at 3.25%. Best of luck with your struggle!

FALSE CREDIT BUREAU REPORTING

This company added incorrect & false info to my credit reports. It was stated in the reports that I opened a new account in Jan 2011 and that is false. It states it is a collection account and a new collection as of May 2013. This is ridiculous reporting. It's horrible how consumers have to deal with incompetent people reporting incorrect info to these bureaus. When this type situation occurs the consumer is the one who goes thru the stress and time it takes to get this mess corrected or deleted. I am a few months away from a new home purchase and have been very meticulous with my credit and cards so as not to have any issues. I need to purchase a new vehicle but have been waiting so that my income to debt ratio is in order. I am mad as *** about this and you can truly call me a "pissed consumer".
