- - $96 subscription charge declined by the bank.
- - A second invoice appeared 24 hours later and was fraud.
- - I tried to cancel via texts and emails.
My bank Chase refused to process to continue the subscription for additional $96.
24 hours later submitted a 2nd invoice and once again Thank God my bank refused the charge stating it was Fraud. I sent multiple text & emails to cancel.
I called the bank to issue a card with a new number.
I tried to change payment their system does not allow you to change. What company does that?

Verified Reviewer |Terrible customer service
- - Purchased to write memories, stopped midway.
- - Charged again a year later.
- - AI bot couldn't locate the account after providing details.
I bought to write my memories a year ago, got halfway through, got distracted, and decided to just not finish and call it a loss. A year later, I was charged again.
I wrote to the company to say I wanted to cancel and requested a refund. What replied was an AI bot that stated they could not find my account; to provide the email I used and account number.
I responded with the information requested, but I kept getting that same AI bot stating it could not find my account. A scam because there seems to be no real person to help.
- Questions were detailed and made you think
- No upfront declaration it is a subscription
- Poor customer service
Preferred solution: Full refund

Verified Reviewer |SCAMMED
- - They charge a lot and promise to help with your memoir but do nothing.
- - After 3 months they bill again; canceling loses your money and access.
Do not buy from this company as they are a scam. They charge you a lot of money and promise to help you write your memoir.
This, of course, is not the case. They actually take your money and do nothing!
Then, after 3 months, they charge another large amount to your bank, and if you cancel them, all the money you paid the first time is useless. You can then no longer access your account, and if your book is not finished, you lose everything.
- Scam
Preferred solution: Full refund

Verified Reviewer |They cashed my $136.99 and gave me nothing in return
- - Ordered a 3rd book on Nov 6, 2025, and waited long with no delivery.
- - They sent many emails but offered no resolution and now claim funds expired.
After a long wait for the first books I ordered, I ordered a 3rd book on November 6, 2025, and never got a thing from them other than many emails that never resolved my issue. Today they now tell me that the money I sent them is no longer available because my subscription expired during all of my correspondence.
Basically, they stalled getting my book printed and are blaming me for letting my subscription expire.
They are a business scam and I wouldn't recommend anyone trust them with money you send them! I could send the twenty-some emails they sent me without ever offering to resolve my issue with them!
- It is descent
- If and when they print your book
- Did not fill my order
Preferred solution: Full refund

Verified Reviewer |Scammed
- - They deleted a chapter and blamed me.
- - My subscription expired, blocking my writing.
- - I waited years to write for my family.
The company has made me an offer. I am hoping that they can now prove to me that my book is safe and I have not been scammed.
They deleted almost a complete chapter and blamed me. Then they told me my subscription had expired, so I couldn´t access what I had spent the entire 3 months writing.
All they are interested in is scamming customers, not helping them to write a book. They should be ashamed! I have waited many years to write a book, mainly for the benefit of my family.
Now I have to start again. This time, hopefully without someone trying to scam me.

Paid for one book. Haven't finished it yet, and I just got charged for another one.
Why? They shouldn't just arbitrarily be able to pull from my checking account.
- I can do it at my speed

Verified ReviewerI want to cancel and let them know that. Within seconds they withdrew $39 and $59= $98 total
- - Charged $98 after trying to cancel.
- - Refunds within 14 days only for faulty/not as described; access begins at sign-up.
I'll use Amazon.
I copied and will paste on here what they say about receiving a refund:
I've changed my mind and want to cancel my order
Please note that, as per our Terms and Conditions, we offer refunds within 14 days only if the product is faulty or not as described.
Once digital access to the platform has been provided, the service is considered to have started, and the order cannot be canceled.
This policy is in place because our platform gives immediate access to personalized tools and content creation services. However, if you believe that the product you received is faulty or not as described, you are always welcome to contact our support team. Please provide a clear explanation along with any visual proof (such as screenshots or photos), and we will be happy to review your case and assist you further.
The fact I'm not allowed to "change" my mind appears as if I will NOT be getting a refund!
While I ordered this I realized I could go to a book store, get what I need, and I'm sure it would be WAY less expensive. In fact, the library is free.
At first I had 24 hours to wait for their "ruling", turns out that's not the case at all.
As you can see for yourselves, accordingly the rules for a refund keep changing.
I want my $98 refunded back to my account NOW!
I tried canceling it right after signing up for Memowrite. In my opinion they are a scam.
I feel I have proven my case.
Thank you

Verified Reviewer |Thought I paid for one book. Now charged 2 more times
I signed up for one book. Havent used it, not sure how to access it.
All of a sudden I am being charged 2 additional fees.
I did NOT sign up for a subscription. I feel that this is a scam!
User's recommendation: Don’t fall for it!
Refund required for cancellation 2 hrs after payment by debit card.
- - Money was charged immediately after the Facebook ad.
- - Account created; cancelled; refund requested; contact was difficult.
I felt I was just being offered 50% to get me to go away. If this Company is building on keeping money that should be refunded then what sort of Company is this really.
I am very disappointed that they cant be honest.
Thats what is wrong with a lot of people these days they lack integrity. Carol Petith
I then took a while to find out how to cancel as I had decided to not go ahead.
Then about 2 hrs later I received an email dated 14th January 2026 1.06pm.
saying "
We would like to inform you that you Memowrite subscription has been successfully cancelled. We want to thank you for sharing your life journey with us.
Warm regards
Memowrite Team "
I am very elderly and am doing my best to contact your company.
It is very hard to make contact.
An account was set up as soon as money was paid and I did go and cancel this account as I did not know how to go about things to get my money refunded. Please refund my money as I have not used your service and opted out immediately.
Carol Petith.
User's recommendation: Do not deal with them as they will take your money and they dont care if you opt out straight away like I did within 2 hrs. They seem to me to be a Company that is pretending to be genuine but dont have any care if you dont proceed and they decide that they can keep your money without having provided any thing because you op out. So my advice is keep away. Carol Petith
Not happy with service
- - I would not recommend this service.
- - I completed 1/3 of the book and was charged again for 102; reminders were not sent, and my subscription was cancelled.
I would not recommend this service. I should not have started it around xmas-but I got so busy that I only got 1/3 of the book done.
Thought it was a one time charge but not so. Tried to charge my card again for the 102 that I initially paid.
They were supposed to send me reminders with new questions that I never received and then I got an email saying my subscription was cancelled. what a racket!
User's recommendation: Don't bother

- - 90-day discounted membership; renewal charged $126 instead of $88.
- - I sent 9 emails; Memowrite replied 3 times; they couldn't locate my account.
I was unable to complete my book in the 90-day membership I chose to purchase originally. This membership was offered at a discounted price.
It explained that if you had not completed your book nor had you canceled your membership, you would be charged full price for another 90 days. So, in my case originally i was charged $57, a savings of $31 off the regular price. When i realized i would not have my book completed in time, i pulled up my account to get more info about the upcoming renewal. i was shocked to find i was going to be charged $126 to renew instead of $88.
I immediately sent an email explaining there was a mistake on the amount i was going to be charged to renew. I intended to get it corrected before it renewed. To sum the rest up, i sent a total of 9 emails. I received a total of 3 emails from Memowrite.
The first was a generic email to let me know they had received my email and i should receive a response within 72 hours. The next was an email from Paula who replied to my problem by explaining how to open an account. I replied, asking them to read my original email, and they would see that wasn't my reason for contacting them. Paula replies again.
This time she says she can't find an account for me under the email address I am using to correspond with her. Now I'm really pissed off. i immediately respond. This time I include the following attachments: a copy of my receipt for the purchase ( I paid through PayPal), a screenshot of what they charge to renew, a screenshot of my account info (that includes the email address they have no record of) and a screenshot of my purchase as shown on their website.
Since this has gone on so long i also sent a screenshot of $126 i was charged to renew. Because i was not getting a response to this email, i sent an email every 2 days hoping for their response. I started this correspondence on August 8 and still have not received a response to anymore of my emails.
I guess I'm screwed on the overcharge. The best I can hope for now is they actually print my book when it is completed.
- Great concept
- No customer service
User's recommendation: Pay with PayPal. When i contact them they will take care of the problem. Stick with companies that have a phone number to contact. Due your due diligence before you buy.

Verified ReviewerMisleading, inaccessible, and deeply disappointing
- - They billed ongoing fees after promising simplicity.
- - No questions, guidance, or access were provided.
- - Cannot log in; no instructions; feel misled.
Kate from Customer service offered to discontinue my subscription. I did not know that i signed up for a subscription.
Instead, they quickly charged me—not just a one-time fee, but an ongoing subscription I didn't knowingly agree to. When I tried to get a refund, they claimed I had already received digital package access. I received nothing. No questions.
No guidance. No access. I relied on their representations that this would be easy, especially as someone older who isn't tech-savvy. But I was never given clear instructions on how to register or access anything.
I still don't know how to log in or where to begin. I feel taken advantage of. I got no value from this service and no support.
And now I'm out money with nothing to show for it. Their customer service has been unhelpful, and I'm left feeling misled and frustrated.
- Easy to sign up
- I found it impossible to get any value for my money
Preferred solution: Full refund
User's recommendation: If you’re considering MemoWrite, proceed with extreme caution. Their promises don’t match the reality.
No response from them
- - The welcome letter arrived with no access details.
- - I emailed 3 times with no response.
- - Refund requested by email; no response despite over-$100 charge.
My husband ordered this for my birthday in June. I received the welcome letter but nothing as to how to access the questions or site.
I e emailed 3 times but have heard nothing. This was a little over $100 and I received nothing.
I want a refund which I also requested through email and NOTHING. Email is the only way to contact them.
User's recommendation: Don’t buy anything from this company. Great idea but nonexistent customer service.
Company refused to return an answer.
- - Paid about $100 for the memowrite program.
- - No access or start instructions were given.
- - Three emails and a Facebook post went unanswered.
My husband paid around $100. For their memowrite program.
They sent an initial email but no instructions as to how to get started or access the website. Ive emailed 3 times (no phone available) with NO RESPONSES.
Ive even posted a negative post from an ad on Facebook and still no response. What does it take to get an answer from this company?
User's recommendation: Don’t purchase.

The fact that the product was “WAY” less expensive at a bookstore and free at a library was true before you hit “purchase” or “submit “. Also, no time frame kept “changing”.
Their refund policy explicitly states NO unless the product is faulty. The 24-hour stipulation is the time requirement set for time of purchase to letting them know there is a faulty product issue.
Your complaint is not a faulty product issue, hence the 24 hours doesn’t apply to you. As a result you are not experiencing two different time frames.
