Verified ReviewerThey refuse to honor the warranty
I purchased my car from a private party on 3/2022. A few days later I called Membercare to have the warranty switched into my name.
The person told me that I don't need to change the name of the warranty holder because the warranty stays with the car, not the person.
I called today because I need to take it in because of an airbag light and she told me that because I didn't swith the warranty into my name within 30 days, the warranty is void. She said that there were no notes from the person I spoke to in March of 2022. I don't know if the person I originally spoke to was lazy and didn't feel like doing her job that day or what but that's not my problem. I was given bad information and now they won't honor the warranty.
I've had no claims in 2 years.
Why wouldn't I have transferred it before? Why does it even matter whose name it's in if the warranty is for the car, not the person?
