Horrible Experience

I went to the Meier's Clinic in Bothell WA. I told them first hand, prior to starting the program and stepping on the plane what my situation was. They said they could help me. When I arrived that wasn't the case. Team of so called therapist are all interns, some getting their PHD or Masters. With the exception of a few therapists I felt demeaned by the whole group. I basically felt guilty for having severe depression w/suicidal thoughts. If you have mild depression then they could probably help you, but anything beyond, good luck. I felt like getting a refund after the whole experience was through. I walked away feeling worse and wishing I had never gone. Please seriously consider another treatment center before going to Meier.

I must retract comments about my former husband. I am unable to revise the original. Please make note of the retraction.

I apologize for my spell check in action. I failed to proof read. We all make mistakes, but my spelling and grammatical errors did not cause any bodily harm to anyone, as did my misdiagnosis and their malpractice.

In the early 1990's, I went to Wheaton, Il's Minerth Meier Clinic for mental health problems. My doctor, Dr. KIM, failed to make a correct diagnosis. As with every psychiatrist, she took the lazy method of carrying over the previous psychiatrist's diagnosis of bipolar. Even though I told her as I told every psychiatrist, I am missing the fun of mania. I had meter had mania. And I asked why I only had the depressive part, not the highs. Had she considered that I, a mother of 4 children within 5 years, the victim of sexual, financial, emotional, and physical abuse by my then husband William Rawski, working full time nights to single handedly support the family, had no drug or alcohol use, no criminal history, was a nonviolent, upstanding citizen, she would have come up with the correct diagnosis of post part up depression and clinical depression, of a reactionary type. She would not have prescribed me lithium, which would eventually cause kidney damage and hyperparathyroidism. Now, I must see a nephritis every 3 months, have blood work each visit and take a drug called Sensipar which costs $1800/month. My medical expenses are $2200 a month, all because of misdiagnosis and improper prescribing of lithium. I will also suffer for the rest of my life with hypecalcemia ANDROID osteoporosis. I will be a hunchback little old lady with multiple fractures. As an RN, with onc, neuro, medsurg and tele, we use the medical model to obtain a diagnosis which involves a thorough history. We don't rely on the last doctor's diagnosis and prescribe on someone else's error. Psychiatry fails to do this. They are lazy , uphold their own above the patient's welfare and do malpractice. I urge others to demand a review of the diagnosis at intervals.
