Not happy with company

I received an energy bill from them for $577.38 Last month my bill was $77.
I received an energy bill from Mega energyfor $577.38 Last month my bill was $77. I called mega energy and ask them why my bill went from $77.00 to 577.38 The answer was because its a variable rate.
The simple answer was basically because they can. I asked if they could adjust the bill and they said no because you were on a variable rate. I asked them to cancel the account they said it will take one to two billing cycles. I kept getting the same answer your bill is high because you were on a variable rate and that is what we charge you because we can.
I went round and round and asked to speak with a supervisor or manager and was told there is no supervisor or manager. I said so theres no supervisor or manager I can speak with who works at your facility at mega energy. The answer eventually was we do have one but they wont be in for two weeks. When in two weeks will they be in and what is the first name of the person that I will be speaking with.
They put me on a hold for over five minutes came back and said the person will be in on Wednesday and I cannot give out any name. I said Im not asking for a last name just who am I speaking with on a Wednesday in two weeks. They gave me a run-of-the-mill email info@***.com and said I can send an email complaint.
I asked who I should address to email to and the person on the phone said to whom it may concern.
The Top of the bill says 549.28 But the total is 577.38. Last months bill was $77 so I sent them 100 total thinking Id have a little bit of money towards this bill.

Ripoff not even responded to by Mega-Energy
I contacted Mega-Energy on April 1, spoke to MORA. I told her we wanted a REFUND of the difference between the DOUBLE rate increase Mega imposed started on May 9, 2018, and ComEd's pricing to the present.
She INSISTED that a letter is always sent, and that the bill prior to the increase would state the increase.
I told her NO letter of the increase was ever received, and that the bill prior to the increase had DECEIVING, EVASIVE & FALSE information, stating
"FOR NEXT MONTHS RATE; CONTACT PH: (888) 888-****; MYSITE.COM",
which is hardly proper information of a rate increase; PLUS, that phone number given is a SPAM & SCAMMER's number, and the website does not exist.
My sister has been dealing with cancer since early 2018, and ferreting out rate increases from a deceptive company, was not something she could be dealing with.
MORA told me her supervisor would call me within 24 hours. NO PHONE CALL EVER RECEIVED.
I have placed an informal complaint with the Illinois Commerce Commission. There has been no answer at this point. The ICC instructed me to call them back should I receive no response, or the response is not satisfactory, and they will then file a formal complaint.
Mega-Energy are simply RIPOFF artists.

Preferred solution: Refund the difference between what Mega-Energy increased the rate by and was paid, and the ComEd rate in effect during this period.
WRONG Website & Organization Pissed Consumer Fails to Correct
The name, address & contact information Pissed Consumer lists is NOT correct, even though I notified them.
Mega-Energy that is listed is NOT the provider of electricity. They are a NY State Agency which unfortunately named itself Mega. They are a state agency which regulates all utilities:

NONE of the ABOVE has anything to do with the rip-off PROVIDER of energy, which is Megaenergyllc.com, at 855-810-****.
Go to their website, and they do not even PROVIDE their address. In addition, they list, at the bottom of their site, an address that has NOTHING to do with their company whatsoever.
It gives the following, which is to PURA, a Consumer Affairs Unit. It's letters stand for the Public Utilities Regulatory Agency, that oversees electricity providers, and takes complaints about providers.
Here is what Mega-Energy LLC DECEITFULLY & PURPOSELY puts on the bottom of their website, to try and fool you.

Mega Energy's "Deals" once they end, your Electric rates are DOUBLED
After their phone number was NOT functional - either not going through at all when dialed, or getting the message "The number you have called is not........", NOW it answers with a recording to call during their business hours M-F. Phones just don't randomly do this. To me, this simply illustrates the GAMES & DECEIT of this company.
Mega-Energy's number I contacted them on Jan. 31, and is on their website - is NO LONGER FUNCTIONAL!!
855-810-****. This show you what a shady outfit they are. Then, at the bottom of their website, you find a number that is actually for the Public Utilities Consumer Affairs Unit of Connecticut! Absurd.
Then, there is a non-profit alliance, megaenergy.org, who I spoke to to told me they had unfortunately chosen MEGA as their name, which stands for Municipal Electric & Gas Alliance for the State of New York. I was further told they knew of Mega-Energy LLC, and found there are tons of complaints by customers being ripped off by them.
And, that the Alliance for NY utilities that I called, gets mutiple complaint calls EVERY DAY from people like me trying to reach the company, Mega-Energy LLC. This should tell you all you need to know about a deceitful, ruthless outfit that I will pursue that every regulatory agency who has them operating in their State takes legal action against them.
I just printed out the ComEd bill the month before Mega-Energy DOUBLED her rates. The message does NOT state there will be a rate increase as its agent claimed when we called; it instead states the following, which is FRAUD, a state and federal crime: Mega Energy FOR NEXT MONTHS RATE; CONTACT PH: (888) 888-****; MYSITE.COM This is FRAUD, because that phone number is a SCAM phone number that has been used by endless scammers. I will file complaints on Mega-Energy with the Illinois Commerce Commission, the FCC, and every agency that deals with this type of company.
Mega Energy makes cold calls to other electric company's customers, particularly they prey on the Elderly. This is exactly what they did to my sister. She was offered some piddly discount from ComEd's rates. As most people, she does not remember if Mega Energy even told her that the rates would change after one year.
Mega Energy then DOUBLED her rates from 0.07 cents per kWh to 14.9 cents! When I discovered this, I called Mega Energy myself. They made excuses that on her ComEd bill, there was a notification of this. I looked through her bills, and found this in very tiny print, where almost no one sees it.
I then immediately canceled her service. That was TWO months ago, & I now discover that they NEVER REMOVED their service, and her bills are at 14.9 cents per kWh, as opposed to ComEd's 7.219 cents, which is not only less than half Mega Energy's, but this is with ComEd's rate increases in the last two years!
I will report them to the ICC for fraud, and failure to take her off their service when she signed NO contract.

Mega Energy using RUTHLESS India call centers
I am called 2-3 times daily from Mega Energy India outsourced call center, Mega Energy is cheap *** company and there India call center representatives will not take no for an answer. There so-called representatives will lie and claim they are from Duke Energy they are not and now they are Caller ID spoofing local area phone number to get you to answer your phone.
Caller ID spoofing is the practice of causing the telephone network to indicate to the receiver of a call that the originator of the call is a local number not the true originating India call center. It's time to take a stand no more outsourced call centers! What ever you do never give these or anyone your energy account number because the next thing you know you will have changed energy providers. I will never understand why Ohio permitted this BS to go on, do not switch to Mega Energy they will raise rates they are nothing but lying *** They irony is my electric company does not allow me to switch and yes I have told their representatives this and they tell me I am lying.
I consider these unwanted calls harassment and it it time to stop. Long and short if they don't speak English well it's a scam and /or company you want nothing to do with HANG UP!

Mega Energy used bait & SWITCH To Gouge
I signed up for Mega Energy's monthly plan when I saw it on the power to choose web site as being the lowest electricity provider. When it was within about a week of the end of the first month of service I looked again at the power to choose website and I saw that they were still the lowest so I decided to stay with them another month.
When I got my bill for the second month I saw that my electric rate had more than doubled. I believe that they are using a bait and switch technique to get cutomers into the plan with the low electric rate but then gouge them in future months.
I believe they should have sent a notice that warned that if no action was taken that the electric rate would increase substantially. It is not reasonable to charge more than double what all the other electric providers are charging.

Ohio (state government) is not interested in anything that does not provide revenue for the state ; most of which remains in the black hole of Columbus. They don't care one tiny whit about you until they want money from you for one of any (large) number of reasons.
Then they will stop at nothing.
They have all kinds of fun in their quarter-BILLION dollar statehouse and the ivory and glass towers of The Bureau of Workers Compensation (who had a really great coin collection at our expense not long ago). Now there's a Governor who's never held anything but a government job (and he's had them ALL) - guy can't hold a job for anything.
