Worst medical facility I've been to.

AVOID!!! DO NOT GO HERE!! You couldn't find worse medical care. There are much better physicians in canton to go to that actually provide good care. I saw Dr. Morris she seemed to be in a rush. The appointment lasted about 10 minutes and in that time she proceeded to tell me that I should not be on the medicines that I was on. She then told me that those medications are not meant for what I am taking them for. After this I told her that these decisions were made by a highly respected Endocrinologist and I spoke with him at length about the treatment plan before it began. Dr. Morris then got very defensive and told me that he was wrong and that she was going to treat it a different way that I didn't need a specialist. The " treatment plan " she introduced I shared with my previous Endo, he basically said she was a quack and to give her his information to contact him immediately, which she would not do. Apparently what she was trying to do is extremely dangerous, and she was completely wrong about my medications. The next day I brought her all of my records and treatment plans because they wouldn't request them from my doctor. If I had gone along with her recommendations the damage would have been irreversible. So needless to say I turned it down and told her I would find a new physician. I tried to leave a complaint with the office manager for over a month to no avail. He would not return my calls. I finally got him on the phone and he told me to shut up and that she was some world renowned doctor. On top of all this they sent my detailed medical bill to a family member that used to also go to this facility, addressed to them with my name and all of my information on it. They didn't even try to bill my insurance and tried charging me $480 for an office visit!! I just hope they didn't also send my information to some stranger. I have since filed a complaint with the medical board and a HIPAA violation complaint. This doesn't even include the unorganized, disrespectful, uncaring office personnel. I don't know what happened to this place but it used to be wonderful care provided by brilliant medical professionals but is now a joke.

I'm retired from the 5th Special Forces (Green Berets). I've had some wear and tear. My pain has been increasing exponentially since I retired. Then, Dr. Lobel started working with me. Long story short, after a year of trying other things, he inserted a spinal stimiulator under my skin and up along my spinal cord. I CAN WALK. Once around Walmart and I was done for the day. Now, I can function normally for a man my age. If you have a bad time with Lobel, you have a bad attitude and control issues. If you have the patience to do what the insurance companies require of him and behave, he's a miracle worker.

Medical Associates Of North Georgia Manager Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
This place has went from bad to worse, the care provided here at canton location is sub par. The office manager Kevin Kellog is rude, unprofessional. The wait times in lobby and in room are unacceptable, there are much better places and doctors to go to in canton. I do not recommend this place.

My issue is with Dr Steven Lobel

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Every time I go to see him for my Three month check up to get my perception s refilled he calls me a drug addict because he fills my hydrocodone. This last time I went to see him around March 16 he was very rude, he said if I was selling my pills that he wanted half of the money, he said he was joking and for me to go on home and to get out of here, he didn't send a nurse in there when he left to give me my next appointment with him, He gave me shots in my Knee for osteoarthritis and I have it severely in both my hands my back and my knees, I have a bone in my right hand that has died and my pain is severe, he doesn't know how it hurts me, so I will go see me a lawyer and get medical associate s sued . my name is Patricia A Henderson, 736 Roscoe Collette Rd, Dawsonville Ga. 30534 and my birthday is 4/28/52

Dr. Casy Turner - a top notch GP

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have been seeing Dr. Turner two times/year for the past 8 years. I have received excellent, competent, and prompt service on each visit. Thanks to his recommending needed tests for someone my age on several occasions, I have been able to catch potential problems before they required surgery. Recently, I complained about consistent leg cramps and a few days later I was booked for a CTa scan - great service! Two days later, after reviewing the CTa pictures, Dr. Turner referred me to a vascular surgeon. When that surgeon did not work out, he immediately referred me to another surgeon. He stayed on top of my situation until I could get the specialized treatment I needed - a great GP!

Wondering if they could have found the tumor sooner

There is a doctor there ( don't want to nane ) who gave me a medicine for over a year that I complained was causing me bad leg cramps....I said this more than once....I actually did a elimation of foods and such...I think it was the meds...asked to be changed to another medicine and immediately found relief ....also complained about what I tought was a pinched nerve....mentioned this several times, got no X-ray or anything! ( turning this time could not raise my arm and had lots of terrible pain ) Come to find out I had breast cancer that had cause a huge tumor on the bone that had atpctually bone the bone! And another smaller tumor in the bone of my thigh! My question is could he have done a X-ray and found everything sooner.....maybe the thigh would not have happened... Now I have a shoulder replacement rod and a rod in my thigh! I think I should sue!

i live dr. Lobel he is the greatest he tries really hard to put you at ease and cares what kind of problems you are having. Don't let negitive feed back didcouragenyoualto he does not hav patience for addicts so if you'er only wanting pill with no cause go somewhere else he knows his stuff

I agre, he is great! He has a unique sense of humor, not offensive.

On the contrary, Dr. Lobel is probably the finest, most moral, law abiding pain mgt doctors in the state!

His bedside manor is humorous yet professional. His staff (except those hideously *** phone nurses) are equally personable and professional. He genuinely cares for his patient's quality of life.

Additionally, he assists both state and federal agencies in controlling unscrupulous pill mills that have caused numerous deaths. Mayhaps it isn't the doctor who has the attitude problem here!

Incompetent - unrealistic

I have just returned home from a visit with Dr Lobel - my scheduled appoint was at 4pm, the office closes at 5pm. The visit with the Dr took about 20min, the I was asked to wait in-line for a urine test - no problem. (No one goes every 1/2 hr), I waited for about ten min to get a room to produce my sample, but 10min before 5pm the Dr has the nurse tell me that if I don't go before 5pm the lab has to leave and he will have to give a fail on the urine test. I walked to him to ask if I will be allowed to remain so that the large amount of water I was drinking would suddenly kick in. He said no, and that is physiologically impossible to need more then 30min. The nurses agreed end it was wrong to fail me because the request was so late.

Why didn't you ask that nurse who agreed with your position to do a cath urine collection?

Medical Associates of North Georgia

I started going to Medical Associates of North Georgia when I moved to Jasper, Ga. They claimed they were all about "Hometown Care". They were... needless to say, things have changed. They simply have stopped caring about their patients trying to get them in and out as quickly as possible. So much for "Hometown Care". I was in a sever car accident in which I had to be life flighted to the hospital. I went to Medical Associates afterward complaining of pain in my left shoulder which continued to get worse, eventually traveling all the way from my shoulder down to my left foot making it numb. Believe me, I'd LOVE to get surgery and be done with it. But I don't have insurance. After dealing with a pain management doctor, a physical therapist as well as my general practitioner telling me that nothing is wrong with me according to my MRI (which I found out from my boyfriend's surgeon that the MRI wasn't even OF my shoulder) they refuse to give me any pain medication which is the only thing that will help me in the least bit. I've never in my life abused it or taken more than prescribed. Medical Associates staff has become rude, uncaring, and unprofessional. What a let down...

if you were in a serious accident, then why did not go back to the doctor who was treating you for the accident ?

Time to fill out a formal complaint, with good spelling, on the form from the state medical Board. Failure to treat pain is below the standard of care.

Make a written request for copies of everything in your chart. Also get a personal injury attorney-the car should have a little insurance. Also hospitals have charity programs to pay for the surgery. They should help to have your surgery pre-approved through state programs-which are usually county by county, and the county is reimbursed by the federal government.

Be clear, well written and spoken, and don't pitch a fit but be very firm and ask questions. Write everything down. Pain management doctors are mostly quacks. Any good doctor should be able to be helpful.

Be sure you present yourself well.

Needles and back buzzing machines do not solve long term pain and injuries. You want fixed so you get back to getting on with life, work, and all the rest of it.
