Refusing care to my disabled son

AI Highlights
  • - The physiatrist spent 5 minutes with my son and 20 with us; he was unclear.
  • - We were kicked out of the clinic and lost access to medications and care.

My son has mental disabilities. He saw a physiatrist for the FIRST time.

This dr spent 5 minutes alone with my son and 20 minutes with us , his parents. This dr was was all over the place! He would say one thing and then change his mind! I asked questions about my son hallucinations and he got pissed!

He couldnt answer my questions so he got very defensive. He then said it was fine for my son to see people ! He then called me a liar about describing his hallucinations. Right then, I said this isnt going to work and we will see someone else.

Boy did he get angry! We left. And a few days later DHS showed up at my door!! Remember he had only met me once for 20 minutes!!

He had made a false report!! Then a few days later , we received a letter form this clinic l They had kicked us out of the whole clinic! We can not see r family dr, all our specialists and acute care . That is the only dr in our town!

Now we have to travel 1 1/2 hrs away!! We have been going to this clinic for 40yrs!! These r the only drawback my autistic son knows and who know his health concerns! They also canceled my appointments for the next day - one was for shots for pain and the other a surgeon.

A surgeon who was going to possibly do surgery on me! Worst part - they refuse to fill our medications!! These medications keep my son alive!! And also help with my disabilities.

We cant get into a new dr for months!!! This clinic knows that too!! What they did is legal!! But does not make it right!!

What happen to their oaths?!! Oath to give the best care!! To let people have a right to ask questions and to decide on their health plan! What happened to freedom of speech?

Freedom to decide whats best for my son who I am his legal guardian?!! What happens if my son dies because of no medication or treatment?!! If they did this to us - there no stopping them! But YOU can help!

Write to ur local state representative and complain. Call this clinic and complain!! Tell everyone!

This needs to stop before someone dies!! Pleas help me

User's recommendation: Complain and never go to this clinic
