I spoke to Charles yesterday about doing a quick one-hour job (interior of an apartment). He quoted me for $90 for the job and when I told him that I was going to move forward with another contractor that offered to do the job for $55, he was quick to drop his price to $55 with materials.

He seemed nice and said he's had over 2000 clients only which of 2 had bad things to say. I agreed. He verbally confirmed over the phone and then sent me a text to reconfirm. This morning, knowing he was scheduled to come at 11am; I texted him at 8:21 with parking and address information.

No response. I texted again at 9:44am - no response. I called and left a voicemail at around 10:30am. No response.

Instead, at 10:40am (20 minutes before appointment time) I get a text saying I should find another contractor because he's "leery" of being escorted up from the leasing office.

It's an Irvine Company apartment which means it's highly secure and any guests need to be walked in by a resident with a key - I'm not sure what his concern was. I'm sure he found another job that was better worth his time and instead of being up front and asking to reschedule my appointment - he pulled this.

My Grandmother is living on a tight budget and got many bids to build a ramp for her wheelchair, they were very high! he took the the time to listen to my Grandmother and came at no cost and gave her a free bid ( Cost ).

My Grandmother had a certain amount of Days before she was to leave her Ohio Home and was to arrive in the Orange County area, he worked all weekend and at night settitting up a a genorater and lights Charles Mc Queen, let her pay him back in payments. I look at this Gate everyday, all my friends in this complex, use mc queen Builders, The gate is perfect, Charles even paid, all her money back, in good faith, my complaint, is for this person, who seems to be unsteady,it's hard to find a good Contractor, what you wrote was wrong, he is the most honest person that I have ever met, he stays busy in this economy. All my friends and Neighbors, continue, to use him. he is a 24-7, Construction service Co., meaning, that he works, seven days a week, and no extra charges for weekend work, leave our fair and honest, good, Contractor's, alone, shame on you.

I hired McQueen Builders located in Fountain Valley, California to build a simple gate to my property. He used the cheapest and the most mismatched redwood pieces he could find and threw it together. He had nail marks showing and slapped it together.

I emailed and called him and he has been unresposive. I wrote a complaint and sent it to the California State Contractor Board.

I would soooo recommend that NO ONE use this company. He does unprofessional work. He does not return calls or emails. He does not stand behind his work. I hope the state contractor board revokes his license.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE NO ONE USE HIM! HE WILL ONLY STEAL AND GIVE YOU EXCUSES.
