McLarenstore.com is a scam - Don't buy if you are from the US
- - Gifted fitted hat from mclarenstore.com; return is messy, chat unresponsive, emails require photos, and order number unrecognized.
I was gifted a fitted hat from the mclarenstore.com for Christmas and when I tried to return it, due to the size being off and the color, McLaren has me going through a crazy amount of hoops to get this return done.
I've tried to reach them via chat, and while I admit to cutting it close to their scheduled closing time, I am still starting my attempts nearly 30 minutes before hand, and yet each time I get a message saying someone will be right there. Nobody ever comes and then I get a message that the store is closed...like WTF!
So I tried the email way, and now they want me to take pictures of the item and email it to them.
Okay...
All of this because their return system doesn't recognize my order number even though I am copying and pasting directly from the purchase email confirmation that my friend used.
The best thing I can find is I pay for shipping and send it to their address and hope that they figure it out and provide my friend their refund.
I for one will not be buying anything from the store and I hope you heed this warning. If you are in the US, find McLaren merch some place else!
