"THE MOST DEMEANING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE"
The owner is a LOUD mouthed, self-absored, rude, egotistical, emotionless NARCISSIST who constantly degrades and criticizes her employees. Because of her perpetual insults, sarcasm and back-stabbing, she has managed to create a malignant work environment that pits co-workers against one another, and breeds total disdain, distrust and extremely low employee moral. Most disturbingly, the office manager who sits at the owner's right hand, has been implicit in many of these indiscretions, sadly enough to say just to keep her job. ALWAYS be prepared to have a good answer for the owner if you find yourself in a situation of "who done it"! Otherwise, you can rest assured that you will be offered up as a sacrificial lamb at the alter for a Tabernacle Feast by your fellow co-workers. CLEARLY they have yet to grow the balls necessary to stand up to the owner to defend their dignity. In hindsight, I guess it's easier to cower like a scared puppy with your tail tucked between your legs than risk being put on a stake in front of your peers, and court marshalled by the boss. In addition, this company is extremely small with only 8 employees stuffed inside a tiny suite with a deplorable, outdated decor complete with government suplus office furniture from the 80's, because the owner is too chintzy to upgrade the office. To add insult to injury, each employee is required to give a DAILY account of every detail of work they do in an eight hour shift recorded in a "Time Tracking & Managment" software application, which is visible to all in the office on the shared drive. The purpose is so that the owner can substantiate giving her minions a paycheck twice a month. In addition, every working piece of equipment in the office has an account code so that the owner can track every penny going out the door; and employees are only allowed to order the bare minimum of supplies at the absolute cheapesst price! The most considerable exemplification of ALL, is that this company proudly boasts of being in business for almost 25 years, yet 2 of the 8 employees that work there have been employed less than 6 months, and the remaining 6 have been employed for not more than 4 years! That averages out to an almost 100% turnover rate with ZERO employee retention capability! I believe that says it all in a nutshell...........
