MCI Eastern Security System, LLC - WORST ALARM COMPANY - DO NOT USE!
MCI was our home security system company for the past 6 years. At some point in 2012, the system / communication stopped working.
A person was sent to our home briefly, but stated that the system was fixed and working again. Having a bad feeling, we recently sought the advice of another alarm company. They found that the first floor fire zone was disconnected at a trouble point, and a resistor was put in place to cut off balance of fire devices that were showing trouble. New alarm company disconnected power, battery and communication from system and no phone call from central station was received to notify us of system loss.
No one was monitoring what was happening and our home was not protected. We were very upset, but politely called to cancel our service with MCI. They told us that our 6 year contract was automatically renewed unless we contacted them 60 days prior to expiration date. They are now charging us 1,312.19 but will accept 655.00 as a settlement.
They are also threatening to put this through to a collection agency if we do not pay them, even though they were the ones who breached our agreement. THIS IS THEFT OF SERVICE. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE PROTECTING OUR HOME, BUT IN REALITY THEY ARE THE ROBBERS. Our system was not working or communicating to their central station.
Our family was not being protected even though we paid for this service. This is a matter of life and death. We are thankful nothing happened during this time.
We also believe there may be other customers who think they are being protected when in reality they are not. MCI should be forced to check all of their customers’ monitoring systems before a tragedy happens.
