Money Stealers

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Do NOT do business with these people. They will scam you out of your money.

I was told to pay $1500 upfront and I would be reimbursed when my insurance paid. My insurance paid the full amount (1,500). I never received any money back because in the middle of treatment Dr. Ed disappeared.

The website shut down as well as the phone number. I did not finish the number of sessions I paid upfront for nor did I receive the money they owed me. I filled a complaint with the health review board but they came back and said there was nothing they could do. I went out to the office several times and tried to get some clarity.

I never saw Dr. Ed after Oct./Nov.

but did speak to his wife who was VERY rude. This is very disappointing and terrible! DO NOT GO TO McCULLOUGH SPINE!!!!

DO NOT do business with this place. They will steal your money.

I met my deductible and my insurance was covering 100% and they still made me pay $1500 upfront. Outrageous. The only mistake I made was not finding this website sooner. Stay far far away.

Reporting him to the board asap.

They disconnected their phones and deleted the website. They owe me money!

thank you for this read . I prepaid $550.00 as well for 10 visits and have not used this balance up .

I could not reach their number or receive messages after my October 2015 visit. Was unaware they were planning to transition to Oregon state.

This information was made available by calling and speaking with a next door business vendor at Henderson location. Filing complaint ASAP.

This same thing happened to me! They owe me more than $1200 for unused services.

I filled a complaint with the health review board but they came back and said there was nothing they could do. I went out to the office several times and tried to get some clarity. I never saw Dr. Ed after Oct./Nov.

Stay Away! They seem legit but when it comes to the financial aspect of things...they have no clue what they are doing!

Please stay away!!! They are out to get money.

My mother is having the same exact issues as these previous reviews. They continue to take money out of her account & also charging unexplained fees. These people were not excepting insurance at the time she started there. She began a treatment plan along with a payment plan...she has not gone back & they continue to take money out of her account.

With all this going on, she has tried MULTIPLE times to contact them through email & by phone for months now & has not received anything in return. Keeps leaving voicemails or messages. I recommend to anyone whom has an account with them to look closely at your statements regularly. I can go on about this business but the main thing that needs to happen is government of some sort needs to get involved & check it out!!!

Much more going on financially there & they definitely NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED!!! Until then, PLEASE save yourself the trouble & STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

McCullough spine Care: Deception & Billing

I highly recommend you stay away from McCullough Spine Care! They are very deceptive! They tell you one fee and then on your second visit overwhelm you with an aggressive long-term treatment plan and a fortune in fees. I was very uncertain and upset but was told I could cancel at any time without penalty and only pay for treatment received. I was required to pay at the time of each visit. My first visit I was charged what I had been told when I made the appointment. I was overcharged on my second visit and I was told the overcharge was a "down payment for future treatment". That was my last visit yet a month later they charged even more money to my credit card and also received payment from my insurance. I had to cancel my FSA card and my credit card and am still fighting to get my money back. One small check was returned to my insurance company and another charge was reversed by my credit card company but the rest is still in dispute.

I would encourage anyone who has experienced this to contact your credit card company and also the Division of Consumer Affairs.

I was specifically seeking care from a NUCCA certified chiropractor. Check the official NUCCA site to make sure whomever you choose is certified.

I am so sorry you are not doing well. I wish you the best & many prayers to you!

I am not familiar with the Division of Consumer Affairs...can you tell me what we need to do? & how we do it? Also, how does that work? Just because she did not respond to your follow-up, why could they not do anything?

To me that seems an easy way out for "McCullough Spinal Care" by not responding...wonder what happens if they don't respond to ours? Sorry for all the questions...I just would like to make things right, if we can. I don't want to see others be taken like we have. My mom has said the exact same thing about local TV station.

I will definitely mention it to her again & show her your post. Only thing is...she does not want to be seen on TV & wants to remain anonymous. :( Hopefully they will honor her request. Do you have a suggestion to what station?

And yes, I know there has to be others. I bet if we can get word out maybe more people will come forward. Some will even start to pay attention & look into their own accounts...I guarantee they aren't even aware. They are definitely beating the system somehow!

Makes me sick!

Thanks for any advice you can give!

Will do my best to convince her to follow through in some way. Best wishes to you & hope you get well soon!

I'm not sure I can post a link but I will try. This is the link to the Commerce & Insurance Division of Consumer Affairs.

Just google division of consumer affairs tn if my link doesn't work. You will be assigned to a case manager who will forward your complaint to McCullough. Be as thorough as possible. I got a response from McCullough the first time which was full of lies and deceptions.

I responded back to Dr. "Jake" and that's when she did not respond. It's beyond me how that got her off the hook. The lady with Consumer Affairs said they needed more complaints to follow up.

https://www.tn.gov/consumer/complaint.shtml

I wrote everything I remembered about my 2 visits, kept all of my receipts and credit card charges, etc.

It was exhausting but very important to have it all documented. They use a company in Florida to do their deceptive financing scam. They don't tell you that either up front. I had to cancel my credit card and filed complaints with my credit card company and got some of my money back.

I have a LOT of documentation. I wish I could have continued the fight because they need to be exposed for what they are - scammers who take advantage of people desperate for help. As for TV stations, I was going to contact News Channel 5 Investigates. I don't want to be on TV either but something needs to be done.

I don't know how to get the word out. I've told everyone I know but no doubt if their books were audited there are countless folks out there like us.

I don't think my first post was successful so here goes again. You need to contact Commerce & Insurance Division of Consumer Affairs.

https://www.tn.gov/consumer/complaint.shtml

If the link doesn't work just google division of consumer affairs tn.

You can fill out a complaint online or download the form. My complaint was so long I downloaded the form and including my novel length documentation including everything I recalled about the 2 visits, my receipts and charges to my credit card. I had to cancel my credit card and file a complaint with my credit card company and got some of my money back. They also had my FSA account number and I had to go through the same process with them.

They use a company in Florida to carry out their little financial scam. They don't tell you that up front either.

As for TV stations, I was going to contact News Channel 5 Investigates. I don't want to be on TV either but they need to be exposed. I would love to see an audit of their books.

I bet there are hundreds of people they have done this to. I hope you are able to pursue it for your mother and everyone else who has suffered in their hands.

Please contact the Division of Consumer Affairs and perhaps one of the local TV stations. I was not able to pursue it to the end because my illness continued to worsen after seeing them and I became too sick to fight.

I got a letter from Consumer Affairs stating Dr. Lisa "Jake" McCullough did not respond to my follow-up so they couldn't do anything. That's how they get by with it. They know how to work the system.

I was ready to go to a TV station when I got too sick. Consumer Affairs needs to get more complaints. The Attorney General needs to get involved.

You can bet they have taken money from more than those who have posted here. I am willing to testify against them at any time.

Follow up to my above complaint. It took Dr.

Lisa 'Jake' McCullough a long time to respond to my complaint with the Division of Consumer Affairs and her comments were so inaccurate it was a joke. She claims I was only charged for one visit when I have numerous charges to my credit card, FSA account and insurance proving otherwise. She claims the treatment and payment plan was canceled in March yet I have a letter from the finance company stating it was not cancelled until May. They took a payment from my credit card in April for services I did not receive and would probably have taken another payment in May had I not cancelled the credit card.

She claims I agreed to be treated by Dr. Ed McCullough (her husband) and I never even met him. The doctor I saw I later learned had only been licensed for less than a year. I have pending credits placed on my charge card and FSA account but she will probably dispute those and we will continue to go back and forth.

Unless she returns the insurance money which was paid from my BCBS managed HRA account I am told there is no way to get that money back.

According to NUCCA.org none of these doctors are NUCCA certified though they have NUCCA all over their website. After researching other actual NUCCA certified chiropractic sites and reading the NUCCA guidelines for treatment, their whole treatment plan is unnecessary and unethical.

If you have had a similar experience with McCullough Spine Care please file complaints with every agency you can. Save others from going through this nightmare.

McCullough Spinal Care -- care package billing deception & excessive appointment scheduling

Deception at its best.........

Be very aware of the care packages! You can get the care you need without the outrageous amount of visits they require which makes every patient a "money machine". Check with Certified Doctors in this field.

Do the research! Check with the BBB of Tennessee, the State of Tennessee's Consumer Affairs Division, check online for Certified Doctors in this field. Do your homework!

Certified NUCCA Doctors are shaking their heads in disbelief regarding this practice!

Do the research to make an informed decision regarding your care and the cost of your care! Examine your billing very, very carefully!

Indeed McCullough Spinal is quite the scam! When I left them 10 months ago after just 2 treatments I was paid in full.

Suddenly today I receive a bill demanding $95 or they I'll face "collection".

I have nevered owed them anything, nor had I received any notice to the contrary until today. What a racket!

Please join me in filing complaints with the TN Department of Consumer Affairs. See my posts.

The more complaints received the more likely something will be done about them.

I don't plan to give up. I wish there was a way for all of their scam victims to get together and pursue this as a group.
