FIRM'S TOTAL NON-RESPONSE TO ISSUES RAISED BY THIS CLIENT

McCormick Law Firm Of Irving - FIRM'S TOTAL NON-RESPONSE TO ISSUES RAISED BY THIS CLIENT

While my own attorney at the McCormick Law Firm did a conscientious job of handling my slip-fall-broken arm case vs. a Douglasville, Georgia motel, the firm itself has hidden charges such as a $200 so-called OPEN FILE FEE to pyramid the one-third share of settlements they take + they refuse to even use tracked mail to send checks nor will they send them by any electronic method such as Zelle. WHEN I COMPLAINED ABOUT THESE ISSUES, FIRM FOUNDER CAGNEY McCORMICK GOT RUDE AND NASTY TO AN ACTIVE CLIENT -- AND THEN THE FIRM REFUSED TO PROVIDE ANY DATA ON ITS PROFESSIONAL MALPRACTICE INSURANCE, CHOOSING INSTEAD TO STOP ALL EMAILS TO THIS CLIENT>SHAME ON THE SO-CALLED ACCIDENT ATTYS!

Cagney McCormick Texas Attorney Unethical

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Texas attorney Cagney McCormick received a request to provide the client his file. The letter was addressed to Philip Galyen, Bailey & Galyen, to provide a client file. Cagney McCormick refused to provide the file to the client which violates Texas law. The law in Texas as in most states is simple: the client file is the property of the client.

Texas attorney Cagney McCormick was on notice a former attorney at Bailey & Galyen had obstructed a federal investigation where the attorney had destroyed and altered records. The attorney also fraudulently filed a bankruptcy case. See expert report at https://www.scribd.com/document/28018****/Bankruptcy-Expert-Report, “In my opinion Clients’s attorney did not exercise a reasonable standard of care in filing a Second Bankruptcy Case without Client’s consent and signature. Indeed, in my opinion such conduct is fraudulent.”

Attorney Cagney McCormick refused to turn over the client file for months and ignored several follow up requests to do so. In my view this is simply covering up fraud committed by his law firm. The law is simple to understand the client must be provided the file. See, TX Rule 1.15(d), states in part, “Upon termination of representation, a lawyer shall take steps to the extent reasonably practicable to protect a client's interests.. surrendering papers and property to which the client…”

Cagney McCormick was repeatedly asked to provide the client file to the client so the fraudulent conduct of Bailey_and_Galyen could be used in court. In stead of providing the client file to the client which is clearly required by law to do, Cagney McCormick decided to conceal the fraud of the Bailey & Galyen law firm and refused to provide the file.

I do not believe Cagney McCormick should continue to violate the law and to provide the file to the client. Continuing to do so also covers up the illegal conduct of the Bailey & Galyen law firm.
