Fraudulent company

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Charged the previous owner over 16k for a new roof that cost half of that at the time and didn't even close the county permit properly. Now demands additional money to help close the permit that he should have done in the first place.

Stay away from *** and this company. They are thugs.

Preferred solution: Permit closed

User's recommendation: Avoid this company at all costs

Dissatisfied with communication of the office staff from beginning to end.

AI Highlights
  • - Contract signed after Ian and work began in May.
  • - Carport work was good.
  • - Porch work did not meet specs and corrections were made after leaving.

We were left without any idea when the work would start. Contract signed after hurricane Ian on Oct 31, work began in May.The work on the carport was good .

The work on the screen porch which was a simple job, was not up to specs submitted to Sarasota Co. so they made corrections after we left Fl. When we returned there was a one inch gap where bugs could come in and when we sent pictures to complain Brittany told us the could not attach the screen porch to the home! All this was via text.

We could not speak to anyone. The guys did come the next day to fix the gap and the leaking roof.

The two men who came to fix things, Daciel and his father were kind and competent and fixed the problems. The way they run the office is the worst example of a business practice. Plus they seemed to have changed the name to Seven Day Roofing in the middle of our contract, so when you do call it does not say May Custom Home.

User's recommendation: Do not sign with this company .

Not happy

AI Highlights
  • - Porch work not done after 9 months.
  • - Delays blamed on permit processing and slow Pinellas County.
  • - There should be honesty about workload and staffing.

Still waiting on our porch it's only been 9 months now .it seems like they come up with every excuse in the book ,it takes a while to get a permit ,Pinellas county takes forever. Blah blah blah ..just tell people the truth and say we have a lot of work and not enough workers.

I've called 4 times, no reply.

AI Highlights
  • - Roof was replaced before Ian, a couple shingles blew off, and Mike promised a same-day visit.
  • - Warranty status unclear; customer has called four times.

We had our roof replaced before hurricane Ian and a couple of shingles blew off. I don't know what our warranty is for if no one returns my calls.

I've called 4 times now and spoke to Mike once who said he would send someone out that day.

That was 3 weeks ago, so what do we do now. They didn't leave extra shingles sooo!

User's recommendation: Be very very patient

Issues with warranty coverage

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Pickup issues not resolved by management.
  • - Under-warranty repair $80 not reimbursed.
  • - Total diagnostic/repair $1200 with no repayment.

have had multiple issues with this company and have asked the management and even the owner to help me with their issues with their pickup service. They don't want to resolve these issues ,so I will do a review on them.I had to have someone else repair my under warranty issue at a cost of $80 which May Custom homes did not make any effort to repay me for.

They don't have a compribible tech to repair it so I had to go out of warranty network and cost me for the labor.

Total cost of diagnostic and repair was $1200 which again they have made no effort to repay me. I will keep sending reviews so people know what they are getting if they hire them.

Loss:
$1200
Pros:
  • Warranty issues
Cons:
  • Warranty issues

Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: Be very weary

It took them 8 months and many, many phone calls to finally get our screen room completed. Now we are almost to a year since we put our deposit down and we still have not had our leak taken care of.

Warn senior citizens of certain danger signing a contract with this company. You will end up in court or worse yet get bullied to pay in excess of contract price. You will never be warned. I

They will charge in excess of contract price and never advise you in advance they did something over and above contract. They give little to no explanation. You either pay or get sued!

May Custom Homes has windows after windows just sitting inside their office . The owner Mike Areodock doesn’t care all he is after is making money.

Mike the owner will close the deals collect thousands and thousands of dollars from these people but will never do the work .

He has cases after case and Sam and Nicole are just as bad no one in the office cares about screwing people over stay away from this company you will pay upfront for a service you will never receive . I would recommend Sun Tec solar in pinellas park area they come highly recommended and they don’t screw over people like mike arodak
