Lousy Customer service
I have leased a 2020 Kona, agreed price was 154 monthly, they they recommended that i get dings and dents coverage on top of the vehicle which comes to 190 a month I cant afford that much since my insurance is 320 a month for 2 cars, i have been going to the dealership 3 times to ask why the coverage wasn't taking off and i was thinking of returning the car and part ways with Hyundai loosing my $5k down and deal with a cheap used car

Salesman left, never returned in middle of working with him. Went on to next customer.
Sales mgr rude, overspoke me, and tried overcharging on a lease by 5k. Actually when i said i got better deal from another dealership, he said to go to them...worst experience...daughters first car purchase...and rudist non caring unprofessional people i have ever dealt with at a dealership
My salesman was great, accounting dept. was very disappointing.
My salesman Matthew and manager Felix were attentive and professional. I rate their service a ten.
The accounting dept. was unprofessional to say thr less. In the course of two, to three weeks I could not reach a single person to answer the phone or call me back. If it not have been for Felix help I don’t think I would have received the paperwork I need to process with my business.
They need more training in customer custody.
I have purchased two from this dealership and referred friends who have purchased a total of four brand new cars. With that in mind I deserved much more respect, considerations and promote services.
In fact, it should be compensated several services for being so inconvenience.

No leasing options offered
I leased a 2017 Elantra July 2016 was never offered any coverage package. First time leasing i didn't know there was an option till later.
Terrible. Please give all options when people are buying

My son purchased a car on December3,2015. The car an Elantra 2013.The dealership salemen was new we was his first customers. Called himself setting up full coverage on the car on the computer.We find out it never was no full coverage on the car my son and I is paying monthly for.Now the car is total. They over charge us on the car which we still owe 16,000 and something the car only cost 13,988 and it end up costing almost 22,000. This is our first time financing a car.How that happen, I feel we have been rip off. Never will go to that car dealership again.Now we are paying the bank monthly for a car we do not have.No I do not want to be contact by that dealership we are so done with them
Don't ever say you will pay for the car cash
I told the first salesman I wanted to pay cash for a new CX5 and he disappeared.
I thought he went to get a manager but he did not return and nobody could find him. Went back again the next day and the girl at the door said he would be out in a minute.
He did'nt come out. When I left with my wife I saw him hiding like a little girl giggling behind the manager and other sales people.
I never saw such unprofessional, arrogant little people. I did buy a new car but Mazda needs to man up and hire some professionals.

I only give one star because I can not give zero. NEVER have I been lied to so blatantly, these are the people that make you feel like all dealerships are filled with snakes.
From the service department to the sales floor I was told so many lies I can not even begin to list them. Everything from the $400 standard disposition fee (their manager w/ 10 yrs experience thought it was $600-oops) to what was wrong with my 2013 Hyundai Sonata (w/i 6 months i needed no transmission, engine and now radiator issues). They tell you one thing presenting themselves as wanting to help me out of what they admit is a 'bad car with obscenely high payments', and then another will come over and tell you something COMPLETELY opposite and that what the 1st guy said is not even a possibility. They contradict themselves.
If you want an honest dealer and/or mechanic DO NOT GO TO MAXON HYUNDAI. the Technicians all the way up to the director of operations and above - LIE LIE LIE!!!

Preferred solution: I just want to walk away from this lemon. EVERYONE at Maxon agreed it is a lemon, so why am i in it?
Initial net sales price quote versus actual sales price
The breakdown values in the quote that you get upon first entering the dealership has nothing to do with the actual sale. The initial price quote will not even become part of the final sale price; it just disappears and no one seems to have it.
The initial spreadsheet is just a front to confuse the buyer. Buyer beware! it’s like dealing with "Crazy Eddie" again.
If the numbers from this dealership seem confusing, just don’t go next door to “another” dealership, they most likely are owned by the same owner(s) and practice the same religion.
Not much that you can do on route 22. Just be ready to pay more than the MSRP.

DO NOT BRING YOUR BUSINESS HERE. I bought my brand new car here less than 2 years ago. They installed leather seats before I took it off the lot incorrectly and NEVER fixed it despite my going back to them 2 times.
Two weeks ago my exterior door handle came off in my hand, I brought it in and left without a door handle, my seat control switch missing and my window broken being held up by clear tape. Everytime I bring the car in for service, parts go missing, things get broken and they get an attitude and ask "are you sure it wasn't already like that when you brought it in?"
They have no concept of what customer service is. They LIE to your face and on paperwork. They will tell you right away that whatever you're there for is NOT covered under warranty unless you speak up. I have had to deal with the CEO's office at Hyundai USA to get anything rectified. I will NEVER go back here again.
Don't do business with Maxon Hyundai
We found Maxon via TrueCar. Even with a firm out the door quote in hand, they resorted to high pressure tactics the entire time.
For 3 hours we had to argue with them to honor the deal. They threw everything in the book at us, "you have to finance", you have to get VIN etching, you have to take cargo nets", until they finally relented.
We got a good deal, but it was a huge hassle to deal with them. They are not honest or reliable in my opinion, and don't seem to care at all about their customers.
Do not deal with Maxon Hyundai-mazda dealer union
We always bought our cars but got talked into leasing when we were at MAxon Hyundai in union.CAlled the sales rep and told him how we feel a ripped off and if he could work with us to give a better deal. He said if you can find a better price let me know.AFter 2 days we went back with our lease research hoping for a compromise.We showed him how maxons internet dealer itself gave us a $2000 price less on the lease option.
After 25 mins of waiting the manager comes and basically says no.I was ready to walk out and raised my voice at my husband when he asked another question.The manager started getting rude with me and asked me to get out if i were to raise me voice.
He started arguing with my husband & insulting him.He basically harrassed us out of the showroom with a threat "dont forget i have all your credit info.you dont want to mess with me".No one from dealer apologized.Now we are worried about our credit & whether our license plate will be done on time.I even took a video clip after that threat of how the manager was trying to get in my husbands face trying to fight with him. What a *** experience.OTher than writing to BBB and consumer affairs,filign a report with the police, what else can i do to ensure our credit safety?
Maxon mazda in union are thieves
I recently purchased a vehicle not too long ago from maxon in Union Nj. Although the salesman was OK the service department are bunch of thieves.
Although I didnt have extended warranty i still have few days left. My check engine light came on so I took it back expecting them to find the problem. Its a good thing I checked before leaving my car with them. can you believe they were gonna charge me a 100.00 daignostic fee unbelieveable.
All they have to do is hook up the car to a instrument that gives a read out it takes less then 10 minutes. I know this because shortly after leaving the dealership in disgust i took it to my regular mechanic he looked at it for free in less then 5 minutes he told me the problem.
I wonder how much they wouldve charged me for spark plug wires what a bunch of thieves i will never again purchase a car from them.
P.S. when they loaned me the car for the night to test drive brake lights were out and a blinker light too i actually got pulled over thank god the cop was understanding should've known right then what i was up against
Maxon Hyundai Union NJ is terrible.
On 5/24/08, I purchased a new 2008 Hyundai Accent SE from Maxon Hyundai in Union, NJ. I will never buy another car from that dealer again because of the way they handled my plates and registration. I was so appalled and aggravated by their lack of responsibility and by the way they were giving such bad advice that would have cost me my driver's license had I followed it. They really didn't care.
The law in New Jersey clearly states that once the temporary registration is issued, it is only good for 20 days. The dealer has 20 days in which to obtain the permanent plates and registration from motor vehicles. Two weeks had gone by and still I had not heard anything back from the dealer on this. I had called and left several voice messages asking about the hold up and I wasn't getting any calls back. What made this so stressful was that the temporary registration was about to expire on 5/12/08. It was 5/11/08 when I finally pestered the dealership about this and I really was worried about what was going to happen.
It's sad the way I had be so persistent and relentless until the problem got resolved and it wasn't pretty. Nobody was calling me back so I asked to speak to the owner. The owner wasn't there and the highest level I could go to was the owner's assistant. It wasn't until I bugged the dealer several times did I find out that this dealership was having problems with verifying my employment, which I didn't understand because I had already provided a pay stub and in fact, someone from that dealership had contacted my supervisor weeks ago. My supervisor gave him a phone number for somebody in HR and she told him that if he had any problems that he should call her. Did he ever call her and did anyone ever notify me? Never. So the next layer of the runaround was for me to have my supervisor call an 800 number at the corporate office in California to verify my employment. I asked these people at the dealership why I was never notified about this and they never even answered the question. The owner's assistant kept saying that this wasn't posted on line but it was very clear that they knew they were having these problems.
I continued to get one story after another and I even was in contact with the dealer department at motor vehicles for advice on how to handle this and to verify if a lot of what they were telling me to do was legal. One receptionist there had told me that if I got a ticket driving with expired registration, they would pay for it but that's not even the point. I had to tell these people there is no way I am driving with expired registration. You can get a suspended license, points on your license, and a hefty fine for that. If it got to that point, I wouldn't drive at all until I got that issue resolved. I made a huge stink over how it would cause me an inconvenience and how I would have to cancel my physical therapy sessions. And that owner's assistant was so casual about that too. She kept telling me that the temporary registration didn't expire until 5/13/08. I told her she was wrong - the date 5/12/08 was clearly written and I wanted to know what proof she had that it was 5/13/08. I asked her point blank if she would drive with expired registration and she actually told me she would do it because it's up to the dealership and what is the likelihood of being pulled over the police! I went back and forth calling and speaking to someone and leaving voice messages and I asked her how in the world she could be so ignorant about this.
This lady then told me that the plates would not be in that same day but that they would issue me a dealer's plate. I told the dealership there is no way I would accept that because that is illegal too. I confirmed with motor vehicles that once the vehicle is purchased under your name and insurance and payments have already been made, you cannot drive that new car with the dealer's plates.
I told them that if they didn't do anything about this, that I would show up in person. By the afternoon and after getting more stories from them, I told them that if they couldn't get the plates or at least offer a loaner car, that I would fax a complaint to the dealer department of motor vehicles along with all the documents I signed so the state investigators would come to their premises to investigate the matter. They even refused to provide me with a loaner car. In fact this other receptionist told me the biggest lie I've ever heard in my life - that for 10 years they've been giving dealer's plates to customers and they have never had a problem and that the police wouldn't give you a hard time because they would see where the vehicle was purchased from - yeah right! I told her flat out that I didn't believe her. She even went so far to tell me that if I didn't want to accept a dealer's plate that they wouldn't help me. So I then repeated to her like I had done several times that day that if they couldn't get the plates in, that I would lodge a complaint and get the state investigators involved. I told her there was something going on that they weren't telling me.
Finally, I was able to speak to the finance manager's boss. He tried to pull the same thing by pushing a dealer's plate on me and I told him that I wouldn't accept it because that's illegal. He then went into his story about how "oh it is and it isn't, depending on whether we've gotten the money from the bank". I didn't want to hear it. He told me he understood if it made me uncomfortable - I told him of course it would make me uncomfortable and I didn't want to get involved in that.
He was also giving me the story about how they had to locate a bank that would offer me a loan but that was already 2 weeks ago and about how they were having the problems verifying my employment blah blah blah...whatever, I didn't care.
Then finally he told me all the paperwork was in order and that he would definitely have the plates and registration ready for pick up by the next day 5/12/08. He said he would try to get them in that same day but that he couldn't guarantee it.
So get this - he called me back an hour later to tell me the plates and registration were in and I could pick them up that night. So I was able to go there that evening and it was all taken care of...finally after all of that aggravation.
It totally amazes me the way a professional dealership selling new cars can operate like that. They should be ashamed of themselves and personally, I don't care if they lose business because of this post. They should know better as far as I'm concerned.
Follow up on Maxon Hyundai, Union, NJ
In light of what happened at that dealership, I wrote a 3 page letter of complaint to the owner. He called and left a voice message on my cell phone and did not even offer an apology. All he did was say that he got my letter and asked me to give him a call. There is no way I am calling him back at this point. I don't have time for games.
The owner's lack of response and concern for this definitely says a lot. I was considering that since he wasn't there on the day I was calling back and forth and getting after these people at the dearlship, maybe he didn't know what was going on but why would a business owner let his employee get away with this? How is a business operating like that supposed to last? So basically they're telling me that all they care about is making the sale and once the sale is made, forget about customer service. It makes no sense whatsoever. I don't understand what they have to gain by dragging their feet on plates and registration. They must be taking advantage of a lot of ignorant people who don't know better to question that. I think that is so sad and so wrong.
Meanwhile, I have also faxed a complaint about this business to motor vehicles. I'm sure all states have this arrangements. At least here in NJ, there is a dealer department you can contact for advice on anything questionable a dealership is telling you and there is also an investigator unit. In order to file the complaint, I had to include a letter and photocopies of all the documents I signed. The whole fax wound up being 20 pages but that's including the documents along with a cover letter and a double spaced time line with bullet headings outlining everything that transpired.
This dealership location is going to be audited. I did not tell this dealership owner that I was definitely going to file the complaint but at this point, I don't care. I suspect something illegal is going on at that dealership if everyone there is telling customers to break the law.
That is so horrible!! It's not right at all, I am sorry! Shame on them!
Maxon Hyundai - word to the wise...again
That dealership owner called and left me the exact same message on my answering machine at home, "...you wrote me a letter, I'm so-and-so the owner, call me back..." Forget it. I am moving on now. He will hear from a state investigator about this whole matter. I think the most sickening thing about this is how so many people who are ignorant, uneducated, or who just don't have common sense are being taken advantage of by following such shoddy advice that's illegal - like accepting dealer's plates and then getting into trouble. It's also illegal for a dealership to issue a second temporary registration. Interestingly - at least in NJ - if you accept a second temporary registration from a dealer you cannot be found at fault for that (but who would really want to be caught in the middle of that) but if you're driving a newly purchased car with a dealer's plate, the police will think that it's stolen.
One piece of wisdom that finally dawned on me is there is no law saying that we can't get the plates and registration ourselves. When it comes time to buying another car which hopefully won't be for at least another 10 years, I'm just going to get the plates and registration myself from motor vehicles - forget about paying and trusting a dealership to do that. We never think about it until we start having problems but when you do think about it, think of how it would have a few hundred bucks and all the aggravation that can arise when these dealership people drag their feet.
You just can't trust people anymore. Now I'll know that next time when I buy a car, I'll be signing so much paperwork again but then putting my guard up again by insisting that I pick up the plates and registration myself. I cannot for the life of me understand why such a simple thing that a dealer agrees to do and that you're paying a dealer for has to be so complicated.

Nowhere will you find similar complaints, which means that this type of issue is isolated to only you. The problem is probably located between the seat and steering wheel.
