Bad Experiences
Since Maverick Gaming purchased the casino, the service has deteriorated in many noticeable ways: The drop has almost doubled, drink prices have doubled, and most significantly the poker experience has declined a lot. This was the best card room in the state, now it is one of the worst I have experienced anywhere in the world (New Zealand, Australia, all over the U.S.).
My last experience: 1) the cardroom manager was having a personal conversation with a customer and ignored me for over a minute while I tried to sign up for a poker game.
I politely interrupted to bet my name on the list 2) Their were only two tables open with more than 20 people signed up to play - no effort was made to call in additional dealers (which they frequently did before Maverick's) 3) When I was called to the table after a 2-hour wait, I immediately cashed of the blackjack game I was playing and went to the card room (maybe 90 seconds elapsed). He had already given my seat to another player, then told me it was my fault for not coming right away. I left the casino.
The trip before, I was seated at a 1-3 table waiting for a 4-8 game. I was asked if I would take a 4-8 seat if they started a new game and I said yes.
The dealer then said they couldn't deal me in any more since I had committed to a new table.
There is about a 15 minute wait for them to set up a new table, so I just left the casino).
Maverick's bought most of the non-Indian casinos in the area so there are fewer options for poker now. It's not all bad - I'll be playing more golf than poker due to the poor atmosphere they've created in Kirkland.
