Verified ReviewerIncomplete Job
- A $2,800 deposit was paid May 1, with a $2,900 balance.
- They painted openings and the ceiling; the paint dried grey and the reviewer says they lied.
I hired Master Seal Roofing (781)-941-**** to correct a leak issue on the ceiling of my 125 year old home. The leak had been previously repaired by another company involved in the home restoration business. Unfortunately, once the wind blew the rain against the house, it found other ways in. That business owner did not return my phone calls so I looked elsewhere. Sam from Master Seal gave me a price of $5,700. The rain was coming in and I did not hear from any one else. Sam INSISTED that he would get my money back. So, I gave them a deposit of $2,800 on May 1. Once completed, I gave them a check for the balance of $2,900.
Angelo Stevenson and his cousin Sam inspected the roof and determined that it could be fixed, so they painted the openings with tar and began to paint the ceiling and walls in the hallway below the leak. I explained to them that this area, ceiling and walls and the entire inside of the home had recently been painted. Talk about a WASTE of manpower. They arrived, painted the ceiling and walls but when the paint dried, it was GREY! I contacted Angelo and told him that it needed to be redone due to a color discrepancy. He told me that they would be back the following week. This continued for weeks. Each time they came back they would spend the time talking and the paint would dry grey. They now had a 3ft. grey strip that needed painting, which they never completed. EXCUSES, EXCUSES is what I got for over a month. I was not going to hire a painter to finish the job. The last I heard, Angelo was in Seattle, Washington. Supposedly his sister had a heart attack and he would be back on October the 18th, So I can come the next day, which (sic) is Thursday the 19th. Im(sic) so sorry Ive been going crazy with her and her kids.
He blew that date off and I contacted him to ask where they were, they had not shown up and never heard from them again. Sam hadnt even called the Adjuster! He lied. Angelo lied and I am out thousands of dollars!
I had given them the check from my insurance company and paid the rest out of pocket.
I want them to return and finish this job or refund my money. I have wasted so much time waiting for them!
I had written a previous complaint and Angelos sister saw it. I believe she owns the company. She was so upset! I felt bad for her and withdrew my complaint, reluctantly.She told me that theirs was a family business and they want to do right by the customer.
Angelo Stevens and his cousin Sam are LIARS and have stolen my money!
I have two arthritic knees and am on a walker. They have taken advantage of my integrity and patience. I will seek return of at least half of my money.
Best,
Ms. Bradlee Tattan-{{Redacted}}
