Updated by user Sep 10, 2021

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with settlement agreement.

Original review Sep 10, 2021

Hello, I was wondering if you all took Medicaid? I used to see Ms.

Martin many years ago (2013) for depression and anxiety medication and I now have Medicaid and was interested in seeing her again if possible. Is there anyway you could tell me if you all take Medicaid, particularly the WellCare plan. And if so, do you all still treat people for depression/anxiety and can I make an appointment?

I have a therapist but she does not prescribe medication so she advised me to call around to some regular primary care doctors. Thanks in advace for your help!

Horrible “doctor”, Andrew. Save yourself some money and a trip.

Doctor broke patient and hippa rights after he “couldn’t figure out” what was wrong with my Dad...using him and his insurance to milk for money as he was a desperate elderly man looking for care and trusted him only to be used and abused with so many tests I cannot count for him to never receive ANYTHING from them...no meds, change in meds, prognosis, referral out to another primary (as they would lose $) ...except a bill! If you truly care about you or your loved one’s CARE than you really should go somewhere else!

Andy Illobre and his staff are absolutely the best. I have been going to him for many years.

He listens to what I say and explains things to help me.

He took great care of my husband for many years as well. Much better than anyone I've ever gone to.

Never had an issue with anyone at the practice but I also respect what they have to do on a daily basis. Many of the complaints on here seem one sided and I am sure there is more to the stories.

Don't trust these Physician Assistants.

I was a patient of this group for several years to my regret. I found them to be unqualified and my health did not improve because of it.

They mistook my questions for criticisms and as time went on, our relationship deteriorated to the point that I sought a regular doctor who has helped me tremendously. The final straw that broke the camel's back was when I asked for an appointment 2 weeks before my regular 3 month checkup. After getting a shot for my pain, the PA told me that I could skip the regular appointment that was due in 2 weeks and to schedule another visit for 3 months. I informed Sue at the front desk and she promised to cancel the 2 week hence appointment.

Apparently she forgot. In two weeks when I didn't show up for the cancelled appointment the PA was angry. A day or so later I came down what I feared was strep throat so I called for an appointment and was curtly told I would have to wait 3 weeks. I told them I really needed to see a PA and was told, "I cannot help you." They didn't remember that I had asked Sue to cancel that appointment and led the PA believe I was negligent.

It was vindictive on both her part and on the PA's part because I had been a cooperative patient with this group for almost 10 years. They were icy cold to me after that so I cancelled my next appointment and never went back. They are inept, gossip about each other and other patients, incompetent and carry terrible grudges. I urge people to only use PAs when no doctor is available.

There are over 250 qualified doctors in the Wilmington area.

Why settle for a PA when you have great medical help by professional MDs all over Wilmington? Your health requires that you get the best medical advice possible.

Fantastic office. You feel like you are being treated as a person not just a number.

Very competent.

Great place for the family. So glad I found a good caring provider close to my home in Carolina Beach.

This may be one of the most inept doctors offices I have ever been to. The incompetence of the women working the front desk (especially "Sue") is unbelievable.

Upon arriving (I had an appointment) we were ignored while other visitors were checked in the instant they walked in. When I finally walked up and said something the woman just laughed and said "oh I'm sorry we must not have seen you". Ridiculous. Dr.

Gary Toppin is the only person here who seems capable and competent enough to do his job. I like him as a doctor but everyone else here is awful. They have in the past charged me for not showing up for an appointment which would be fine if it weren't for the fact that I cancelled the appointment.

On top of that the doctor I had seen on my first visit was terrible and she insisted I see her again in a week and made the appointment for me wheni Beanies to make an appointment to see Dr Gary Toppin. This office is so inefficiently and in effectively run its embarrassing.

Lab mistakes, recommendation mistakes, medication mistakes

Misread my lab value and said I had genital herpes, and only when I demanded to red my own lab results (IM a nurse) then they admitted the mistake. After just two days with a sore throat said I have bronchitis which is a chronic condition.

Never drug tested me when I was prescribed a controlled drug.alerted me they my thyroid levels were in trouble when they were with in Normal limits. And referred me to a specialist(which was a 2 month wait) without caring to check if my insurance was accepted there.then when I called and was upset,I got no sympathy,no sorry, and they dropped me as a patient!

With all the efficient, well-trained doctors available in Wilmington, it surprises me that anyone would choose these physician assistants for their health care. They are NOT medical doctors.

I received inadequate care, a variety of prescriptions that didn't address the problem and was not treated with the courtesy every patient deserves. I finally reached the end of my rope with this group and found a wonderful M.D. who immediately discontinued some of the medications these P.A.s had prescribed.

I now have wonderful care by real professionals. You wouldn't go to a dental assistant to have major dental work done, so why go to a physician's assistant when so many fine physicians are available in Wilmington?
