Caused a leak!

AI Highlights
  • They pitched a slick sales pitch, but nothing was as promised.
  • They broke siding, left gaps that caused a leak and mold, and are unresponsive.

They gave a slick sales pitch, but nothing was as they said it would be. They didn't do the work when they said they would.

Their crew was careless. They left a mess when they were done. But worst of all, they broke off a piece of siding (without telling us-it wasn't visible without a ladder) and they left gaps between the shingles and the siding of our house that resulted in a leak behind the siding that ruined the plywood behind it and caused mold to start growing.

This is going to cost a fortune to fix. They are not even responding to our communications.

AI Highlights
  • Maryland Home Exteriors completed my roof.
  • The salesperson was knowledgeable and direct.
  • The roof looks great; I'd recommend them.

I had my roof done by Maryland Home Exteriors and I must say that the work performed was second to none. I loved the salesperson who knew what he was talking about and did not beat around the bush.

My roof looks great and I would recommend this company anytime. The crew and the people that I spoke with in their office were all very professional.

My neighbor who is retired was so impressed with the quality of the work and how hard the men worked now wants them to replace her roof. Thanks again and feel free to use me as a reference anytime.

Jane.

Leaking Roof

AI Highlights
  • Roof installed under 5 years ago and leaks every year.
  • Repairs claimed only when unobserved; no documentation.
  • Sales rep retired; company sold.

I had a brand new roof placed on my home not quite 5 years ago. The roof has leaked for every year subsequent to its installation.

These people used what appeared to be undocumented workers on the roof and had to be forced to honor their warranty. Repeated calls have to be made;repeated e-mails have to be sent. They claim that they repair the roof--but only when no one is present to witness it. No cards or forms are left to substantiate what they have done.

This is a company composed of smaller companies that sub-contract out. The sales rep who sold me my roof has "mysteriously" retired and gone off into the sunset with his wife,at least that's what I was told.Although the company was sold to someone else, in my mind, the only difference in the crooked spinning wheel is that the hand doing the spinning has changed.

Maryland Home Exteriors - The Worst

AI Highlights
  • Quote to replace windows; work not completed and caulk incomplete.
  • Chinese measurer; five workers smoked; TV and carpet damaged; contractor denied.

Jeff gave us the quote to replace the windows in my home. He seemed very nice and knowledgeable, but when the work was to be done its a whole different story.

A chinese man came to measure the windows, I don't know what he was saying and he didn't know what I was saying. the day of the work, they told me they would be here in the morning. At about 12:00, noon, they showed up. 5 Hispanic men showed up to do the work, I have no problem with this. The started to work and they were smoking in my yard and throwing their cigarette butts all over my yard. I let them continue to work and cleaned my truck to stay out of the way. I went inside my house to find my flat panel TV had been scratched, there were rust stains on my carpet; from where they laid their tools, they got caulk on my carpet, and didn't even caulk all the way around the windows. My coffee table was nicked when they carried in the windows, my dresser was also scratched. They told me that the job would take one (1) day, the work was not completed and now they want to come back tomorrow to mess up my house some more. To fix the carpet they took a razor knife and cut a piece of my carpet out, the carpet was installed about 4 months ago. Are these guys serious?

I called Jeff to explain the problems and he said, without even coming out to look, "there is no damage to your house" when I insisted that there was he talked over me and then when I didn't listen and continued my sentence he hung up on me. Jeff is a piece of trash and I will never do business with him or anyone that he is affiliated with. Please be careful, he is a smooth talker and then a snake.
